SOURCE: we've replaced the Invensys timer in our whirlpool

This may not be what you wish to hear but... I suspect that the reason you have had to change timers is that a user is turning the dial counterclockwise. This will ruin the timer in one fell swoop as it bends over the contacts inside the timer and caused immediate failure. I have seen this in a few homes where the home owner had mentioned that this is the 3rd timer we have changed in as many years. In every one of the cases I asked them to select various cycles as I watched on the OLD timer. All of them at least once turned the timer CCW. Once I explained that they never turn the timer CCW.... the repeated failures stopped. Some people just never knew that it was bad to turn the timer CCW. That may be the case here. So timer rotation is ALWAYS Clockwise to avoid repeated timer changes.
I would not give up on it yet... You have barely reached mid life for the washing machine you own. At roughly $125.00 for the replacement part I can understand your concern.

It is your decision as to where to go from here. As a repair / tech I would not shoot it in the head just yet. I would look into how people are using the machine controls.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Price of wash timer

Great morning Lala Pradeep,

eBay shows WASH TIMERS "trending" at $43...

No make or model came through with your question... but I can help (a little here)... without them.

Just do an internet search
(your make)+(your model number)+washer+timer

(Show no spaces or parentheses)...

and you should get a good list of suggested sites... I will put MINE at the botton... (useful only if you are in the USA).

I always recommend that people get three estimates before buying parts (spares)... mainly because they are essentially all the same parts ... and folks like SEARs (pretty big) would charge seriously HIGH prices... while on-line (small/competitive... friendly/supportive) vendors would charge very low prices...

Again... all pretty much for the very same products.

SEARs has since been pressured by the market... and in SOME AREAS... can actually be helpful & competitive

Go to your favorite INTERNET BROWSER...

Whirlpool washer gsx9885jqofills then wash lite just blinks steadly, replaced spade terminalm on start cap checked lid and oobalance switch ok how to fix to wash?

When you say cap, do you mean motor capacitor and it's terminal?
Could be a bad capacitor. Are you getting voltage to the motor? Is the timer switch providing power? Could be bad timer if it doesn't move.

Whirlpool washing machine does not rinse just a buzzing noise

The buzzing is the water valve, the timer is sending power to the valve but no water is coming out. I would set to wash and as it is filling up change the water to cold then to hot while it's filling. I bet either cold or hot will buzz (usually hot). Once you determine which (clod or hot) shut that supply off, take that water line off the washer, put the end in the washer and turn the supply back on. If water comes out then look inside the valve where the hose connects, it could be clogged. If you have water going to the valve and you don't see a clog then the problem is inside the valve...replace valve.

I have a Whirlpool solid-state mark to washing machine powers on but when I hit the run button it just buzzes

See if buzzing noise stops after 10 to 20 seconds if not your cycle timer stuck. Change cycle to a different selection and try to start.

Whirlpool Serial # CK5151376 It will fill with water and wash b ut does not spin. It sounds like the power shuts off. Is it the timer?

Chances are the timer is defective. You can have it repaired at a good price which is cheaper than a new one. I just replaced mine lately for 65$,and the washer is working like a new one. Go to a part supply store and they will sent it for repair. It took me 4 days to get it back.

Waher will not go into spin cycle. It makes a buzzing noise and will not spin.

it's most likely your timer....u can get the machine to spin out your clothes by pushing the timer in and pulling it back out. this resets the motor and makes it turn backwards. it's a pain to do this because you have to keep an eye on the time. this will get you through until you change the timer.

Whirlpool Washer LSR7233BQ2 Buzzes/Humms during spin cycle...no movement

No belt on your machine. Sounds like motor coupler that joins motor and transmission is broken. Very inexpensive part but a few steps involved in getting machine disassembled Look up YouTube video on replacing motor coupler on Whirlpool washer.
