Take the matress out and look in the envelope attached to the frame which should have your directions in it. If you didn't put them here, it is pretty simple. You have two options but you need to have the extra screws and parts that came with it to make the modification.
1) there is a 'day bed' option that requires two short pieces of wood for each end. Remove the front adjustable wall along with all the slider hardware. Make sure the bed is at the lowest point and screw the wood pieces into the holes directly above the bed frame spot and to the point under the bed with the metal spacers provided. (You need 2 long screws and 1 short screw and 1 wood piece per side to make the day bed option.
2) to use the back piece as a headboard, remove the back piece and replace the back right post of the drawer stand with extra board provided. Add the brackets and your purchased frame.

i think i have a solution to your problem. I too have been looking for simplicity bed rails but in honey to convert to a full. I found sears.ca and they carry the rails in every color but there version of the ellis crib is called the sydney 4 in 1. It is the same exact crib so I am purchasing the rails myself. If they do not end up fitting then just send them back. Sometimes canada have the same things as us but they are named different I know I live 15 min away from the canadian border. Hope this helps.

Try here for instructions http://www.meyerhideout.org/index_files/Page1033.htm I found it from another post here. I would also check this one out http://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/Rest_Assured_Guide_onlineversion.pdf there were alot of recalls on that model. I hope these links help. All you need to do is copy the links and past into your web browser.

I have been looking relentlessly for these bed rails for a few months now and I have found the supplier who has taken over for Simplicity which made the Sydney and Ellis cribs.
The company is called Elfe Graco. There telephone number is 1-800-667-8184. They are located in Quebec.
Tell them what crib you have and what colour you are looking for. They will ask you for the model number and the manufacturing date which is located on the crib mattress support (In the middle of the instructions).
I have ordered mine today and they have all colours in stock!
