Question about Raypak Rp2100 Pool & Spa Heater Lonox 407k Btu Natural Gas Polymer Header Digital Rp407aenc

Bad LCD = Bad PC Board unfortunately...

I have the exact same problem. My RP2100 was installed in 2002 and the LCD display got worse every year until now, with nothing being displayed. All the research I've done says that there is no way around it - you have to buy a new PC Board: part# 010253F. You can get them on some web sites for about $300 and try installing yourself. I've talked to a qualified RP service person that gave me an installed price over double that, so I think I'm going to try to install on my own.

SOURCE: Since we had the RP2100 installed two years ago,

Were the ignitor and the board replaced because of this problem and its still happening? If so, it is probable an incorrect gas supply. If you know the gas supply is adequate, then power is not getting to the ignitor or power is not being distributed from the board. As you stated they are new, it gets alittle more indepth. If there is an incorect gas supply or if the refractory kit is flaking (finding white stuff on the burner tray) then you are probably getting an incorrect burn which will melt through the ignitor wires over and over againm until either venting or gas supply is fixed. If you have a flex line as your gas supply that could be the issue. If the venting is not correct this could also cause this.

It's definitely not a virus. The connection between your laptop board and the screen has either been severed or damaged to the point where color is disrupted. I would suggest (hopefully under warranty) getting this fixed before this gets any worse.

There is a high probability this is the tcon board, located at the back of the LCD controller.

I'll need the exact TV model number in order to be able to tell you what exactly the board number is.

It is not guaranteed - it may be the main board or, even worse, the LCD itself; not many people know, but the LCD dispay has quite some electronics literally inside it or glued to it in a totally unserviceable way.

If that electroncis burns out , the whole LCD goes to trash even if it's physically intact.

It's unfortunate, but not uncommon.

Still in your case replacing the tcon board is the first thing I'd try.

Ah, one more thing - sometims the cables that connect the tcon board to the LCD also burn and cause similar troubles. When replacing the tcon board that will become apparent.

Display is flickering and goes out and the screen become black. I attempted to hook up external display and get the same results. I think the issue may be a bad inverter card? System has winXP Home...

try tapping the LCD bezel, if you sense that the LCD would flicker, your hunch might be correct about the bad inverter card. it would also depend if the LCD type has an inverter. or worse case scenario - LCD is already failing...

Hope it helps!

Could be spider webs in the orfices, which would allow the burners not to light.
Could also be a bad thermostat or pressure switch.
