It will turn on to nothing, or a black screen that turns to blue, sometimes with a high pitch sound. After maybe 3-7 times I'll finally get a picture. TV is no more than 3 years old.
The problem is the capacitors on the power supply board. There are two of them, the rating is 220uf - 250v - 105C (M). The back side of the capacitor says V9A PET. You need to remove the board, make sure the capacitor is drained, (you can do this by placing a screwdriver across the posts) Use a soldering iron and remove the capacitors. The only place that has replacement parts is at www.mouser.com, Install them, make sure the polarity is correct, re-solder them back into place. Re-connect the board and it should power back up correctly. Good Luck. Steve
