Sounds like this may be electrical or magnetic interference. could be flouresent lights or maybe a elec. motor running on the same circuit as the TV.

SOURCE: some part of tv has been fused causing no picture

if the screen is real bright green with thin small white lines in it its probably a shorted picture tube. Or a shorted Green driver Transistor. Good Luck

You likely have an elevtrlytic capacitor bad on the B+ line to the vertical ouput ic. If you continue to use the set like this it is likely the vertical ouput ic will fail.

SOURCE: Picture on RCA TV shrinks to a horizontal line

Hello,
Sounds to me you have a cold solder joint ( loose solder connection ) on the printer circuit board around or on the vertical chip or on one of the vertical capacitors. You may also have a bad vertical chip or a bad vertical capacitor, but I doubt it since it did come and go. I'de get a soldering iron and some solder and touch up the connections. I will remind you that you need to always excersise saftey by making sure, before removing the back, unplug the TV from the wall, and use care not to come in contact with the large red wire going to the back of the picture tube as the picture tube can be turned off and still store lots of voltage ( up to 35,000 volts). Always stay safe and when soldering, use care not to run solder across places that will make a short.
Good Luck and I hope this helps

SOURCE: CRT TV picture keeps getting horizontal line & loud cracking nois

the horizontal section is near collapse, the lines indicate a sort or leak. Soon, the set will go black. Shut off as repair will be cheaper now! Needs professional repair as High voltage section is dangerous.. Unplug to be safe!

I have an old hdtv model Samsung un55es800 and it has horizontal lines. I have an old hdtv model Samsung un55es800 and it has horizontal lines

If your getting a single set of horizontal lines showing up on your TV screen lately then there is something wrong with the internal parts either a loose internal video cable or an issue with the graphics system. Broken signals from the graphics hardware or cables help pictures to show up on the TV's screen.

VIDEO TAPE WHEN PLAYED WAVE AT THE TOP OF THE TV SCREEN

This is a common problem usually seen when playing copy protected tapes. The part of the picture affected is normally off the top of the screen. Sometimes the problem is also due to the VCR itself and differences in tapes. It's also possible for the TV itself to be causing this, although you would probably also notice this flag-waving (that's what it's called) on regular TV viewing if that were true.

Sometimes increasing the height of the picture can push the affected area off the top again. But this can also cause you to lose part of the picture you want. Also, the height adjustment may be difficult to find as it's not something normally used. On some TV's it's a small pot somewhere on the board, but most newer sets have electronic adjustments through a service menu that you need to know how to access.

I'd suggest trying another VCR first and play one of the tapes you know shows the trouble. That might be all it takes. Then consider trying to increase the picture height if it's just a small bit at the top of the screen.

Clearly your TV is shutting down due to a problem. Based on your description, it's hard to tell if you have a vertical or convergence failure. What do you mean by "waving" line ?
