Question about Samsung RS2534 Side by Side Refrigerator
The LED readout on my new refrigerator says FF. The freezer side shows the temperature, but the refrigerator side says FF. I can't find anywhere what FF actually means for this particular refrigerator. Neither side is cold now and the compressor is not turning on. Can anyone tell me what FF actually means? I am more than frustrated as I have had this unit for 10 days and can't find any information, even on the Samsung site, to give me any good information. It has been working fine until today and we have done nothing different.

littlern, Im thnking the 61 was your ambient temp on the refer side. The codes show up differnt than that. This is a very complicated machine. Sounds like a temp sensor has gone bad, the main board or the compressor overload itself. You can put it into a self diag mode by pressing power freeze and power cool together for 8 seconds. This is going to test all the sensors, fans, defrost cycles. The error that comes up will show as a - or | running clockwise on a digital 8 figure and then has to be decoded on a chart. For exampe: If the - is present on the bottom side of the 8 in the display, this means a a number 4 error which means a rerigerator fan error. It's gets pretty confusing, it's good you called the service tech. Make sure to get an extended warranty on this model..Catriver..post back.

Ok, what I found out is that there are codes built into the front panel. If you hold the top left and right buttons for 5 seconds, the fridge will reset. If there are no issues, the panel goes blank. If there is a dash in the right side of the panel, there is an issue with the fridge side. In the left, freezer side. The dash indicates a defrost problem. Only a couple of things can cause this. 1. Sensor 2. Heater 3. Fan, 4. control board.

I just had (have?) this same problem. I called out the repair man and in the end he suggested that I buy a new fridge because of all the problems reported with my model (RS2555SL) on the internet. Anyway, after a while I heard what sounded like a fan trying to spin on the fridge side. I unplugged the unit, removed the inside back panel on the fridge side. The entire coils and the fan had iced over. I removed all the ice, plugged the unit back in and it is now working. I will still replace this unit because I probably only corrected the symptom but the problem remains.

I had this same problem. Per the manual, it's been changed to "store display mode". To cancel this mode, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds until a "Ding-dong" sound is heard and the unit will cool. I tried it and it worked!
