Question about Lasko Multi-Purpose Pivoting Utility Fan U12100
I've tried cleaning this fan with attachments hooked up to a powerful shop vack and it's not clean enough. am worried about the dust inside causing a fire. how can i take this apart to clean it better? Please advise

The bearings on the motor are dry and need oil. It's really not made to be oiled, but you may be able to take it apart and get some oil to the bearings if you want to mess with it.

the best thing to do is
take something and wedge the blade so it will not turn, and have it blow it out.
if u want to take it apart there are 20 screws to take out.

Model E20739: The entire back comes off to expose the fan blades after removing two screws. Just unplug the unit. On the back of the unit near the top is a recess that acts as a carrying handle. In that area you will see two large silver-colored screws. Remove these, grasp the back of the unit and push down on it as you pull it away from the body of the fan. You may have to wiggle it around a little to free it.
