My Kenmore 52694100 continues to make ice cubes when the ice bin is full. Also continues to make ice cubes even though I have turned the ice maker control to "off."

Replace the ice maker there is a sensor switch in ice makers which is mounted with it you can't replace just the sensor switch you have to replace the whole thing

Where is ice-detecting sensor located in the bottom freezer refrigerator? No ice/water in door, only in freezer (Kenmore)?

On the side of the icemaker, there is a wire bale or arm that is pushed up by the accumulating ice that shuts off the icemaker.

Only 83 volts to icemaker

yes , when you measure in series with a load in an electrical circuit , you will measure the voltage loss the device causes by exerting its load on the supply power , this is what I suspect your seeing , if the optical sensor looks ok on the bucket thing , I suspect your having the old whirlpool water inlet solenoid problem , id ck that
try adding a small amount of water to ice form tray , if it makes ice in 24 hrs then yep you need a solenoid , also those tiny little sensors they use to sense where ice level is at , can be seen with the use of a simple home video camera (not your phone) , seems home vid cams are extra sensitive too IR light so you can view the light source with it to check it !!

Model #36378285890 The ice maker will not shut off keeps dropping ice.

On mine the ice detection arm gets jammed with ice piled up so that it doesn't swing up. This in turn makes the machine think there's not enough ice, and it will overfill. Also, when it does catch some ice under it it will hold on to the ice, thinking it's full, when the catch bucket is depleted.

The fix would be a stronger motor on the arm enabling it to break through the ice. Costly.

We monitor the ice level, and just lift or drop the arm as required. A small price to pay.

You do know that Kenmore does not make appliances. They contract out to folks like Frigidaire and put the Kenmore name on it.

Icemaker not making ice

If water is also not com out of dispenser then filter should be changed. If water dispenses but ice ice is not being made, the sensor arm or infrared sensor may be stuck or blocked. If sensor is OK then ice maker needs service.

No ice...different question

Are you able to see if you can push a Q-tip or something up the fill tube line to see if it's frozen up inside there. It happens on certain units. You may need to take the Ice Maker out (easy) to get to the fill tube.
