Question about Nokia 5300 Grey Cellular Phone

Nokia 5300 issue

My gal has the nokia 5300 cell, and which she has droped enough times to make the top piece above the screen fall off. This is probably was used to hold down the screen, as now there are issues with dialing out or seeing things, unless you press down on the top center part of the screen.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement piece for this part? How much it would cost to get it fixed? My gal has asked TMOBILE and was told that they don't carry that part.....WTF?

I'm rather annoyed that a carrier, can sell a cell phone, but not support it fully.
Hope someone here can advise.

I was thinking of buying a parts phone on ebay and just gluing the part back in.....any special glue to use besides superglue? Maybe a non-conductive glue? Shrug?

My screen is black because i droped it how can i fix it?

Its either the screen is now disconnected or it is broken. If it is just only disconnected, once reconnected it should be back up and running. But if on the other hand is broken, you will have to replace it. If you are technically minded you may be able to open it up gently and check to see is the connection from the screen to the panel is weak. If weak just press it back to hold firm and couple back the phone. If after this problem persists, you will need to replace it.

Screen problems

This is my second phone and the screen backlight just misteriously stopped working just like the first one did. It's a shame that a great phone like this has this annoying problem. I swapped LCD screens, the ribbon cable, the board under the screen, nothing will fix it. So i guess it's something on the main board which is not availible separately. One thing is for sure i'm not buying a third 5300. What a piece of junk !
