Hi,
Try what my colleague says and try to boot the machine in safe mode and perform a system restore, if it still loops then there maybe a recovery partition, the easiest way to access this feature is tap the F10 key repeatedly when booting the PC, this will take you to a screen to begin the process follow the onscreen instructions.
The process may take an hour or two depending on the size of the hard drive. Once complete, your HP computer should be reverted to the original factory condition.

Good luck

Try pressing the f8 key before the windows icon appears and select safe mode.

under safe mode press no at the begining and a system restore message will appear, just select a date before the problem started and it will restore you settings so the pc will start.

Good luck

My nextbook keeps rebooting after an update and Windows doesn’t load. How can I fix?

  1. Insert a Windows 10 or Windows 8 DVD or a flash drive with the Windows installation files on it, into your computer.

Tip: You can borrow someone else's Windows 10 or Windows 8 disc (or other media) if you need to. You're not installing or reinstalling Windows, you're just accessing Advanced Startup Options - no *********** or license breaking required.
  1. Boot from the disc or boot from the USB device, whatever your situation calls for.
  2. From the Windows Setup screen, tap or click Next.
  3. Tap or click on the Repair your computer link at the bottom of the window.
  4. Advanced Startup Options will start, almost immediately.
  5. Select system restore and press suitable restore point created before windows update and go next to restore the system

My screen keeps flashing" diagnosing your PC" why

There is a problem with your windows 8 PC's installation, which has stopped it from booting correctly; hence why it starts in 'startup repair', and tries to diagnose your PC. Hold the F8 key while booting your computer to go into the startup menu for Windows; click Advanced startup options; and select Restore my PC; which will reinstall windows.
This may or may not work for your machine, you may have to hold F2, F10, or the Escape key to go into the UEFI setup and go into startup options from there.

Hello,
1. option - Removing Windows 8 by installing Windows 7 over it*:
Go to the disc where you have the Windows 7 installer.
Then right click, click on Mount, when done, click on the Setup file and install Windows 7 over your current system.
2. option - Keeping Windows 8 and installing Windows 7 alongside it**:
Restart the Windows 8 system, before Windows logo shows up, keep pressing F12, then choose the disc you have Windows 7 .iso file on.
3. option - Running it from a DVD, but keeping/removing*** Windows 8:
a) go to the disc where you have the Windows 7 .iso file installer.
b) move the .iso file to a easily accessible place like Desktop.
c) then right click on the .iso file and click on Burn disk image, choose the DVD you want to boot from ( You need a readable DVD), and then check the checkbox which says " Verify disc after burning ".
d) click on Burn.
e) when that is done, close all open programs or/and windows and restart your computer, before Windows logo shows up, keep pressing F12, then choose the disc you have Windows 7 installer on.
Note - please read everything carefully. I suggest you to use the 3. method.
* - when in the setup, you have no option to go back to Windows 8.
** - this step might not work, because not all computers support that.
*** - you can choose to either create a new partition on which you will install Windows 7 or install it over Windows 8 by either kepping or not keeping your personal files.
Please reply to this solution: did it help you or not and what improvements in my solutions do you want, and rate my solution from 0-5.

My lenovo s10-3 has turned a black screen after i go to system restore

Run the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

WINDOWS LOGO APPEARS WILL NOT LOAD UP FLASHES BLUE THEN TRIES TO RELOAD BUT JUST KEEPS ON REPEATING ITSELF. PLEASE HELP

unplug all external devices then try
It is having a critical error on start up so most likely a driver issue; hit f5 as it starts repeatedly and then select start with last known good configuration and see if this works.
If not do the same but sselect safe mode. In safe mode go to restore and select a day when it started with no hassle.

If all else fails you may have to repair or reinstall using windows disc

If your Dell was built after 6/04, you have a recovery partition. Press Ctrl+F11 on startup to restore the system to the way it was when delivered.
