SOURCE: Bar sprocket smokes, gets hot spot

Sounds like you're not getting enough oil to the chain. Basically you've got an oil pump, pickup and filter involved in getting oil from the resovior to the chain/bar. If you cleaned the obvious area and the chain is not coated with oil, you may have a clog further up (inside) the oil delivery mechanisms. Also, drain the oil from the tank, and see if you can "blow" air through there. With the saw running & pointed down, you should be able to see oil on the ground being slung off the chain, if not, you are not getting enough oil to the chain.

Use actual bar oil sold for that purpose. It's thicker and won't run out like water. Synthetic oil is very thin does not have the proper density.

SOURCE: Trigger on poulan 3314 does not control speed.

Turn the "T" needle valve CCW a little (1/8 turn) blip throttle, no better, CW 1/4 turn, blip throttle. The "T" is below the other 2 needle valve adjustments. A saw running lean (air leak in intake somewhere) also runs fast. To lean destroys the saw. Post back (below) with results.

Oiler on saw not pushing oil as fast as gas is there an ajustment screw or is it automatic and just needs to be cleaned

Your Operator's Manual does not address any oiler adjustment; an IPL for for your saw lists no oil adjustment screw.
Operator’s Manual
Given the above I would conclude your saw has no operator adjustable oiler. If you think oil output is inadequate contact Poulan here:
The dash number of your serial number is the type. or phone them
Handheld (Chainsaws, Trimmers, Blowers, Edgers)
1 (800) 554-6723 (Please have your saw within easy reach)
A shorter bar will oil better. with no adjuster I recommend you not go longer. If the bar is getting hot make Poulan repair it under warranty!!!
