Taxi almost 95% from the fuse block. Do it right, like Clint says above. Wire to the battery direct, BUT remember to turn the radio off. Sometimes we wire a countdown timer into the wiring so the vehicle will not have a dead battery over a weekend.

Usually from the battery, but it all depends on the installer. Most of these istalls have been poorly done by people that don't have a clue. ower should be taken directly from the battery with a fuse at the battery terminal. This will reduce electrical noise heard on the radio.

I have a 2002 Ford Escort zx2 I replace the battery 3 days ago and my radio will still not turn on... any suggestions??

Check the radio fuse in the fuse box. Maybe its blown, otherwise it may be a failure of wiring or the radio itself. Check the wiring before removing the radio to check the back of it. Check the wiring in the attached link:

the park ave wiring is really easy to screw up when you install an after market radio,
i would have the radio taken out and disconnected and then see if the car goes forwards
also check all of your fuses in the 2 fuse boxes under the hood and the one under the dash and see if he blew any when installing the radio

Radio was taken out and now the dome light, radio and back latch button will not work

Check your fuse box. The radio has power even when the ignition is switched off -- that's how the radio remembers the preset stations -- and that power wire probably touched a metal part of the frame when it was removed.

Digital clock on radio is displayed all the time

Those Luminas all did that. I ran a taxi fleet for awhile that used Luminas and they all had that clock displayed 24/7. It didn't cause problems though, unless we left other things on, or our battery connections were less than perfect. The side post battery was more problem than you might think. Good luck. TT

Radio stop working after battery change

If your radio is the pioneer model stated, it definately has a fuse!
The little black box on the yellow wire contains a fuse.
If there is no black box on the conctant power, you may have damaged the radio with a voltage spike(s) when connecting the battery posts.

I have an issue.. my battery died yesterday the guy who jumped my car messed up and attached the jumper cables wrong on his battery. Now my kenwood excelon ddx 7015 wont turn on at all do you think it is...

Hello Melissa,

The first thing I would check is if your fuse is okay. If your fuse is blown replace and try to turn on the radio. If the fuse is good have the radio taken out and have it bench tested. take the power wire and the memory wire put them together and apply power to them then take the black wire and connect it to ground if the radio turns on then its okay and he fried something else. If the radio doesn't turn on then chances are that he fried it.

You can use a car battery to test your radio or a portable boost jumper.

Hope this helps you.
