Still looking for ways to adjust the springs on our two manual tilt up garage doors. One will not stay in the up position very dangerous and the other is very hard to lift especially for my wife, we are in...

please call a garage door company or find someone in your neighborhood that can help. doors are dangerous when the springs are off, and springs are dangerous when under tension especially if not put on properly. not worth the risks. good luck.

I need replacement spring for ribblon supply spindle. It is the tension spring that fits outside od the inner coil spring Mod 105SL Ser # 6406991

That spring is part of the Ribbon supply spindle and I don't think anyone would sell you just the spring unless they charge you what the spindle is worth for just the spring. If you need i have them in stock. Rory 708-597-4222

When i kick my kick start over it stays down and you hear a grinding noise inside , can anyone help thanks jon

It sounds like your kickstart return spring has gone. The noise you hear with the kickstart still down is because it is still engaged. Dont let this happen, return it to the upright position. You will need to take the case cover off and have a look. On many bikes this spring can be replaced very simply, on others you may need tp strip the engine further. It would be worth investing in a workshop manual.

Have 1200 cc cone shovel HDw/bendix carb. Leaks (drips) all over pipes when ideling. Now have rebuild kit. Never done this before. Need step-by-step. Thanks.

If you're talking about the carb leaking, in addition to the stuff the Kel1guy2002 told you to check, check a few other things as well.

Check the bottom of the float bowl. They are notorious for cracking due to someone overtightening the large brass "nut" on the bottom of the bowl. It's not actually a "nut" but the it is the Main Jet. But it holds the float bowl on and overtightening can cause a crack in the bowl.

Next, it the postion to the spring on the float. It's very confusing to get this spring positioned correctly and even more confusing trying to tell someone how to do it. In this case, a picture is indeed worth a thousand words. This spring helps hold the float in the up position in order to dampen the bouncing of the float while the bike is in motion.

Poulan 3400 chainsaw throttle trigger

Its a missing or broken spring in the handle(trigger). If you look inside the handle you should see a circular spring around the post of the trigger. This spring returns trigger to idle position. If its missing or broken the trigger won't spring back.

Crate guitar amp switching from dirty to clean, like a short or something

Does the button on the switch wiggle around a lot? The switch itself may be broken, more specifically the spring that is supposed to hold it in one position or the other. Luckily, those types of switches are still made, and cheap. It may be worth just going ahead and having someone change the switch anyway if it will be used a lot.

Bissell 3595 handle release pedal spring(?) missing

I just fixed this on my Bissell PowerForce model #6594 vacuum myself. Woo Hoo for me. :-)

I called the local vacuum repair guy and he told me he'd repair it for me if I insisted but that since my machine only cost about $80 (a lot of money for me) it would not be worth the $40-$50 repair. I should just buy a new vacuum (from him I assume).

My machine works great so I sat down on the floor and after removing 5 screws and a little tinkering I got my machine apart. I had to take the brush and belt area off and then the upright part came off the base. Make sure you unplug your unit before working on it.

Next I could see where the Handle Release Pedal (HRP) on the bottom of the unit had been cracked. It's a molded piece that has a slight curve in it that allows it to spring back into position to hold the vacuum in the upright position or to keep the vacuum from going totally flat.

How it was installed I don't think they meant for it to be easily replaced but after using a screw driver on one side and a letter opener on the skinnier side I pried the molded houseing out from around the HRP just enough to let the it release. I did need a third hand for that part.

Whirlpool door pin location

No, unfortunately the door latch assy. comes as a complete unit. Part# 8182634. This # is for the entire door latch mechanism, not just the pin and lists for ~$45.00. Easy repair... open the door. At the 6 o'clock position of the door seal, begin removing the seal clamp with a small screwdriver by inserting it between the spring and the seal. Then peel the seal back (at the 3 o'clock position) to gain access to the latch assy. Remove the 3 screws holding the latch in place and pull gently out. Remove the wire harness. Install the new latch and rebuild. (make sure you position the seal clamp the same way it came off... the spring at the 6 o'clock position.) Install time= ~15 minutes. Job done! and well worth the 50 bucks!
