Thanks for getting back with me. I have not found a solution to the problem, but have found out what the problem is. The problem is the jitter. The data is not sent out in a constant stream, but is broken up and sent out. My jitter was measured as 201.9 ms, which indicates that it is too unpredictable to sustain a constant flow of data. Now I need to know how to fix that.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

The voice of the person talking to me over Magic Jack breaks up. It is as though the sound fades in and out making it impossible to understand what the person is saying.

magic jack can be a funny beast....on my quad core 10GHz AMD box under Windows 7 or XP, it 'll break up like crazy, but I built a 1.5GHz single core P4 under XP and it works flawlessly on it...so that box does nothing but the magic jack now. Yup, got a BIG phone box under the desk...lol...

When i use my magic jack when i am talking it fads in and out and it crackles a lot and the other person on the other end and it also is mombales the voice.

Magic Jack uses your bandwidth for data transfers on calls. If you are downloading or uploading data while placing a call there can be significant disruptions while you are making the call. If you want the clearest call possible, make sure nothing is downloading (online gaming included.) Hope this helps!

Ever since I used the magic jack, I hear the complain from other end that my voice breaking up, and it is not clear. Any help to fix this would be appreciated Thanks

I would try a badwidth test. You can google search broadband test and pick one of them depending upon your connection. This defintely sounds like a lack of badwidth problem.

Calls cutting out with magic jack

Your ISP connection speed may be inadequate. Typically, the upload speed (outgoing voice) is much slower than the incoming speed. To check majicjack recommends that you test your system on http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ .
It's also possible that your internet provider is purposely delaying the outgoing latency in order to discourage VoIP that THEY don't provide. I think this is (or at least should be illegal) but in any case a complaint to the FCC might be in order.

I'm using a Radio Shack telephone handset recording control that you plug one end into the phone and the other two ends into the handset and the recorder's mike jack. (I'm using an Olympus DS330). Trouble...

I use one, too, and it took me a minute to set up right. You need to plug one end into the digital in on your pc, or your recorder, and take the phone line from your phone, put it into the slot on the control, then take the phone jack from the control into your phone. Now, this is for a corded phone, but i cannot imagine it being any different for a cordless, as it, too, plugs into a wall somewhere.

Since I record directly to my pc, using WavePad, i don't know anything about the play button on the controller. I read that it would be used, somehow, to play the recording on the actual tape, but i realy don't know.

Hope that helps.
