SOURCE: it is says fill the beans even if the are full,

Your grinder is probably clogged with fine powder. Set the grinder adjustment to a coarser grist, and see if this pushes out packed coffee from the grinder. Open the lid for preground coffee and clean out the outlet from the grinder.

It is the tamper in the brew unit that feels if there`s enough coffee before brewing. If this gets to far down during tamping, it will send a message to the mainboard that there`s not enough coffee, and the message Fill Beans will appear.

SOURCE: my jura impressa c9 coffee machine keeps tellnd me

I just called their customer service 800-220-5701 with the same problem.

There's a point at the bottom of the chute where you can add ground coffee that tends to clog, especially if water gets in there. Access is from underneath - - remove the bottom tray and reach in - - it's not the hinged flap opening (that's the first thing you'll feel) but if you leave that closed and reach behind it, there's a silver-dollar sized area you're supposed to try to access and clean using a dry cloth. Once that's done you're supposed to try vacuuming from the top and then let it dry for a day or two.

SOURCE: My Jura Ena 5 gives a 'fill beans' message

Same thing happening to me right now. I think this has something to do with having used flavored beans (which I was warned not to do). Supposedly they gum up the machine.

I do not know what efforts you made to prime the pump.

1- Make sure that the water faucet is open.
Use a hand pump to push water into the pump. You can use a syringe or a hand pump. See instructions attached. Services Unlimited Inc Parts Guru Since 1988

Fill beans

the coffee beans are not entering in the grinder disks and since they rotate without coffee the machine understands that their is no beans. You need to clean the grinder disk and grinding coffee funel to bee sure their nothing blocking the coffee movements. Use a vaccum cleaner and try to clean everything in grinder and grinder exits. Try also the machine by regulating thegriding to more gross coffee and when it will start grinding normal then you can udjust step by step back to grinding position you have at the begeining.

This machine doesn't like oily, sticky beans. Most coffee beans purchased at a grocery store (even Starbucks or Peets - etc.) are roasted pretty dark with an oily sheen. Also most coffee beans from the store are very old - no matter how fresh they pretend to be. For example, at Safeway you will see a sign over the Peets coffee that says "roasted fresh, delivered daily" - that makes you think the beans are only a day or two old. But in reality they only remove the beans that are over 3 months old. The only way to get truely fresh roasted beans (unless you roast them yourself) is to find a roaster where you can buy beans that were roasted right there (many coffee shops pretend to be roasters but, in fact, they only buy more beans when they run out).

I have great luck buying beans directly from a roaster who will ship to me the same day they are roasted. RedBird Coffee has a delicious Espresso blend, the price is great and the beans are roasted just a little less dark so they are not oily and sticky. My Titanium works great with these beans. RedBird ships out the same day he roasts and you have your coffee about 2 days later. Very fresh.

In the meantime, you can lift the lid to the bean hopper and stir the beans with a popsicle stick or a chopstick and then they will grind for one or two coffees before you have to stir them again.

When choosing a coffee - don't buy Italian or French or Vienna roast - those dark roasts are oily and sticky. Ask for a Full City or Full City Plus roast - this is just slightly less dark than a Vienna Roast and shouldn't be oily looking. But freshness is still the key - any coffee beans that are several weeks past roasting day will start to become sticky and oily on the outside.

This is where I buy and I'll never go back to buying coffee at grocery store

My Jura Ena gives a 'fill beans' message even though the hopper is full and it won't grind the beans even though it seems to be operating. Help.

Mine just started doing the same thing. I've always only used plain espresso beans. Only thing is I may have overfilled the hopper and packed the beans down a bit. How can I make it start grinding again?
