Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Hi, I left for work this morning and the air con was working fine. Arrived home to find the air con wasn't on. The thermostat on the wall was flashing an L on the screen but the green light was on the honeywell. If I press any of the buttons it doesn't do anything. I've switched it off and back on but still it flashes this L. Could you help me please? many thanks! The thermostat is attached to the wall and doesn't take batteries or not that I can see anyway!

Good morning: I used you trouble shooting web page. Went home and de-iced my fridge freezer. The bottom fan (at the bottom in the back) is working but the fan in the freezer is not going. Does this fan...

HI,
It is possible your fan motor in the freezer has failed and by not moving air into the upper chamber can cause frosting on the back wall of the freezer. Also lack of air movement can cause your air returns to seal shut with ice and still not work if your fan is replaced. The part number your will need is 63001057 for the fan motor itself. I would verify all air ports are open when you replace the fan motor. It not a difficult job, access would take a bit to get into the back wall of the freezer to replace the motor. Amana has been known to use fan delays to pre-chill evaporator before allowing the fan to run, if our model does this, the thermostat in the freezer would need to be checked also. When the thermostat closes, it sends power to the fan motor to run, if it fails, fan does not work. I would check this prior to ordering of replacing the fan.

Power straight a way to out door unit through jammed /struck contactor . When you start power on,power not going to out door by transmission of indoor thermostat calling.

Replace out door contactor.

Wireless network has disappeared.

After resetting it (pressing that inset button with a paperclip or pencil), try connecting to it with a wire (cat5 network patch cable). Login with the default of no username and "admin" password. If that doesn't work, it hasn't been reset yet (unless the manual tells you otherwise). Make sure the wireless is enabled AND that the SSID is set to broadcast, not remain hidden.

If your AC only works when it is cool outside, then you probably have a dirty condenser coil, you're overcharged on refrigerant or the outdoor fan is not running at full speed.

You may need to check the thermostat and have your clutch bearing checked for your ac pump.
