Check the obvious first. Tighten tip in gun, grind off a place for a good ground. Check to make sure your selector swith and rheostats are turning and engaging as they should. If it still doesn't work try a squirt or two of electronic cleaner in the rheostat(arc/puddle control knobs). With the machine unplugged of course! If and only if your comfortable with it take the cover of and look for obvious signs of corrosion, oxidation, condor nest or burnt wires. A 140 amp machine will kill you dead. Unplug it. Avoid touching or safely discharge the capacitors. Good luck. Bryan

Try switching the a,b,c,d back and forth a couple of times a corrosion builds up and causes a week contact so there isn't enough voltage to work . This has happened to me a couple of times . The first time the fan was running and I had no wire feed action and then a local repair guy told me that corrosion is very common with the portable Lincolns . You shouldn't even have to take it apart to clean it just switch it back and fourth and that does the trick. Good luck.

Why won't it start?

as with any gasoline engine, you need, fuel, spark & air, take a moment to follow the progression of each of them, you will figure it out: example, test your ignition switch, clean, new fuel, getting spark to the plug? do you have a fuel stop solenoid attached to the carburetor?

My lincoln mig 140 feeds the flux wire through, but it just sparks, will not weld

Make sure the ground clamp has a good connection to both the work piece and to the welder Sometimes the welder connection is overlooked.

Check the coil. Make sure the wires going into the coil are "intact". If you have a volt meter check continuity to all the wires going into the coil and out. That's the plug wire. Make sure its not old and broken inside. Also make sure the coil isn't shorted out via a bare wire or the like.

My lincoln 140 welds fine on a low setting but when im welding on a high setting the spark starts out strong but seems to fizzle down and it does not burn in good. Please help MIKE

You may be exceding the duty cycle of your welder
Check your operstors manual to see how long you can weld at higher amps before giving the welder a chance to cool down

Lincoln 135 PRO MIG Welder feed stops after a few minutes

1/4" plate with a 135 amp machine is probably beyond it's duty cycle abilites. If you are using a mixed gas, and pushing the max on the settings, it will be cutting out because it is designed to.
You might want to get a higher amperage welder for consistent welding of 1/4"
The 140 Pro maxes out at 5/16" using inner shield wire. and 1/8", or 10 guage with gas.
