The problem occurs when trying to change a low ink cartridge before you are prompted to do so. In that event, you must go to setup, maintenace, change cartridge and it will move the cartridge into position.Do not try to force the cartridge into position.

How to refit the epson scan printer cartridge

Turn on your printer and open the top cover (not just the scanner lid) and press the maintenance button (the little paper icon with a drop) and wait for the head to move into the maintenance position. Now lift the ink cartridge clamp to expose the ink cartridge and carefully lift the old cartridge out. Now open the new cartridge and remove the yellow strip, but however do not touch the green tab, now insert the new cartridge with the green tab facing toward the front of the printer. Now close the clamp and re press the maintenance button and wait for the printer to recognise the new ink cartridge (30 secs.) And you are finished.

How do i change nk cartridges n my epsom stylus 4050

Turn the printer on.
Lift the lid that covers the print-head mechanism.
Wait a few seconds, and the print-heads will slide to a position
where each ink-cartridge can be removed.
Push down on a cartridge, to "unlock" it from its holder, and slide it out.

How to change ink cartridge? When scanner lid is lifted ink cartridges do not slide over to be removed.

If the printer still thinks the cartridges have some ink in them (ink light blinking, but NOT SOLID RED), it won't move the carridges into place- this only happens when they are completely empty. if you want to change them MANIUALLY you will have to look for "changing ink" in your manual- usually, but not alwyas done by holding down the INK button for 3 seconds, but like I said- check the manual, and if you don';t have it, downlaod from EPson website

How do I replace an ink cartridge on NX400?

Assuming that that you have no errors preventing the cartridge change, press the "setup" button, use the arrow buttons to select "maintenance" and press the "OK" button. The carriage will now move to the replacement position. If you have an error condition and you need to access the ink carriage then swith on the printer and when the carriage begins to move across to the left simply pull out the power cable. The carriage can now be carefully pushed into position. Ensure that the carriage is pushed back to the right before turing power back on.

Hope this helps, please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Can't install the ink cartridge

To get your cartridge installed, first turn your printer off. Open the lid like you normally do to change it. You can physically pull the cartridge carrier to the middle to change it. It will not hurt anything. Just be sure your printer is powered off. You see when it is on, the software keeps track of what character position the printer head is in. Like when you tried to stop it from printing it went to the left or home position because the printer software detected that it was not moving and printing in the right positions of whatever it was that you were printing. So good luck and God bless you. Once you power the printer back up after changing the cartridge everything will work and position itself just fine.
