The case fan plug doesn't need to be plugged in. Unless you wish to have the extra cooling. The case fan will not prevent the computer from operating.

Hp pavillion p6313w will not work ...i have fans and power light but no screen

Hard to say without seeing the machine. Is there a hard drive activity light that is flashing? Are there any beeping noises? Have you tried a different monitor? Could be motherboard problem, but one hopes this is not the case.

Need schematics for hp pavillion dv7-1130us. Need to take back off because the exhaust fan's fin is rubbing against case.

It would be much easier to remove the SIDE cover than the BACK cover.

Turn the computer off, and disconnect the AC power.

Once you do, you can see the 4 screws connecting the case-fan to the back of the case, and the wires running from the fan to a power-connector on the motherboard.

Carefully note the "orientation" of the plug that connects the wires to the motherboard. Then, gently pull on the plug, to disconnect it.

Take a screwdriver, and undo the 4 screws.

Buy a new fan, and reverse the process to install the new fan.

I have just bought a new HP Pavillion M9790A, it comes with one hard disk. I need to install an additional hard disk.. how do i do this please?

Hi,

First of all make sure what kind of Hard drive you use, It will be either SATA or IDE . To add additional HDD, open computer tower and you will find connectors are available to plugin your new Hard drive else you can follow your computer manufacturer's user guide.

The better option would be to take help from someone who knows how to add new HDD.

Thanks

I have an HP pavilion pc that wont turn on

you prolly had the jumpers on the new dvd drive improperly set, you want them set to cable select for most cases.

if, on the top or bottom of the dvd drive, it does not have a diagram of which jumper is the master, slave or cable select (usually labeled, cs), then you will haver to look it up in the manual.

if you were connecting the drive to a ribbon cable that is shared with another drive, both drives on that cable must be set to cable select, or one must be set as master, and the other as slave. if there is another drive (optical or hard drive) on that cable, and it is set to the "master" position, the new drive will have to be set to "slave" OR both drives will have to be set to cable select. if you connected the optical drive (set to cable select) to the same cable as the computers primary hard drive (the drive which boots it) and the hard drive is set to master, then it may not boot, until both are set to cable select, or one is set master, and the other, slave.

the other possibility is that you have exceeded the capacity of your power supply, but that is highly unlikely.

Where is the location of hard drive on the HP pavillion dv1000? I want to remove it to restore data.

if you turn the computer upside down there will be a plastic entry point that is a bit larger than a cigarette packet. If you are unsure your best option would be to take it to a computer store and buy a laptop hard drive cover that converts your laptop hard drive to usb. "usb2.0 hdd External Box" about $20 remove and insert hard drive to new case about $10
Now you can access your laptop hard drive easily and cheaply from any computer and when finished you can put it back into your laptop

Hp pavilion 764c wire diagrams

Take a picture of the inside of your computer and put it up on the website with the wire connectors that need to be connected. The connecting wires should be in four groups. 1. The power supply connectors. These connectors will supply power to to all the power using components not supplied power by the motherboard itself. 2 The connections to the other components in your system like the dvd/cd player and the harddrive and floppy drive.3. The motherboard connections for the case. The power switch connector andreset switchconnector. The power led and theharddrive activity light. The USB connector and the audio connector. The fan connections like the cpu fan and other fan only connectors found on the motherboard. The external fans ( Fans that need to be connected to the power supply). Most of these connections are labeled on the motherboard. The case connectors also should be labeled for the correct connection. The best way to find the answers to this hook-up, may be to call HP pavilion with your computer make and model number, motherboard model number including revisions number. Computer made by big manufacturers tend to have may revisions and the only way to make sure your are getting a correct hook-up to the motherboard is call them for assistance.Especially if the motherboard and case labels are not present or so small that they cannot be read.Hope this helps you with your problem.

Transfer data from a dead laptop to a new laptop

Do you have a usb to SATA connector? If so you can plug the old drive into the USB slot and it will act as a slave so you can pull the contents from the old drive to the new. The adapter is about 25.00 or If it was me I would invest into a pocket USB hard drive case that you can put your old drive into perminatly so you can always have a external hard drive for back up later after yo uhave moved the data over and reformatted it. The case is $25-$40.00.

Comming to the data in the hard drive. The data is safe and you can backup your entire data in the below process.

You can use this hard drive case and backup the data on any other laptop or desktop either at home, office or any other friends place without opening the system.

You just need to remove the hard drive from the laptop and put the laptop hard drive in the USB hard drive case and then connect it to USB port.

And the case is available in any computer stores near you.
