When we purchased the van, the DVD didn't work. I was told it did work the last time it was used. Someone detached it to look at it and then reattached it and it started working fine. It's worked for 9 months. Yesterday I tried to turn it on and it's not powering up. It has a DVD in it currently that I cannot eject. We took the entire unit out again and reattached it. This time this did not solve the problem. I've also had issues with the van "thinking" the side doors are "ajar" when they are closed. I've also had problems getting the buttons in the car to open the side doors when I press them. My left speaker also goes "in and out" while I'm driving. Could these things be linked? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: DVD in Mercury Monterey will not power up
All can be fixed if the electrical system is properly checked and rewired where the wires are about to give up. The DVD will work, just check its power supply and the fuse. Finally have all the sensors and electrical checked by the computer in the service station for calibrating the correct codes and double-check..............sodeep

Push the Setup button three times, until your driver display says something like "Press Reset for system check".
Then push Reset. The system check will start, rotating through a series of checks.
About the fifth or sixth check will be the tire pressure. It'll say
something like "Hold Reset if tires are OK". While that's up, hold the
Reset button. After 3 or 4 seconds, the tire warning light will click
off. You need to be ready for it, because you don't get very long.
There are 2 support shocks that support the lift gate. You need to replace them. One or both of them are no longer supporting the door. Your local auto parts store will have them in stock. Compare prices with competitive stores, prices vary depending on where you purchase them from. It't really easy to replace them.
Hello Kevin I hope I can help you find this fuse and fix this for you.The fuse location number should be 63 it should be a 30 amp fuse.I don't know if your manual will show you this location but I do hope it does. But if not I'll do my best to try and help you find it.In your fuse box look about middle ways in it.I hope you see a line of the standard small size plug-in fuse's a row or 4, just below those should be a row of 2, the row of 2 is what your looking for fuse number 63 is the one on the left if your looking straight at the fuse box, or the one on the driver,s side it should have 30 amp on it.Check that fuse or just replace it.I hope that was helpful Tim
