Is will cook an adverb?

Based upon the rule that adverbs modify verbs, I would say NO. The word "will" HELPS the verb, but doesn't modify it. "Cook" doesn't change in any way as a result of the word "will".

If you said quickly cook, or slowly cook, now the words quickly and slowly modify the verb cook. These are examples of adverbs.

What is an adverb phrase?

An adverb is simply a "qualifier" for a verb. An example might be:

I write - "write" being the verb (I write, you write, they write etc)

With an adverb:

I write swiftly
I write carefully (etc)

Largely ignored these days, the adverb should follow the verb, not the other way around

Some examples of adjective

An adjective describes something. Example: She drove a (red) car. Example: You asked a (lousy) question. Example: I gave a (simple) answer. The words in ( ) are adjectives. Adjectives describe objects or people, nouns. Adverbs describe actions or verbs. Example: He runs (slowly). Example: She (quickly) brushed her teeth. You can leave the adjectives and adverbs out of a sentence and the sentence will still be complete, The adjectives and adverbs just tell a little more about what you are talking about.

How do I diagram this sentence-The boy yelled "help" and saw a brave dog quickly run to the rescue.

The is article/adjective modifying subject boy. Yelled and saw are verbs in the predicate of this compound sentence; and is the conjunction. "Help" is the direct object of yelled. A brave dog quickly run to the rescue is a gerund. Subject of gerund is dog with a and brave as modifiers. Run is verb of gerund with quickly the adverb modifying. To the rescue is a prepositional phrase. To is the preposition, rescue the object of to and the a modifier. And here I though my 8th grade talents were no longer needed. Is a adverb and a ation verb the same

An adverb is added to a verb to modify the meaning of the verb. E.g, ate quickly, ran slowly, drove fast. An adverb qualifies the verb with which it rides. It is added to an action verb to add more meaning to the verb.
