UPS wouldn't power up My IBM X3650 while still powering others

I have a UPS connected to 3 servers
1- IBM X3650

When power cutoff from the UPS the last 2 continue to work normally
But the IBM reboots as if the power was cutoff and back again.

Your ups seems not able to supply power to all the three. Check the reaction time specifications.

IBMx3650 amber light appears , error indicates CPU

Most probably this would be Motherboard issue. Rare cases for processor fault. Easy to find out if server works on dual processor

Trouble shooting:
1: Perform Power Cycle (Turn off server, remove power cord from server and wait 15 min)
2: Try with minimum configuration (1 cpu, 2 ram )
(swap CPU if have dual)
3: Perform IMM update

If issue remains, replace motherboard and see if it solves issue.

I Have An IBM x3400 How do i test the smps using a voltometer

Since you haven't mentioned the type of server its unsure server has single type or dual type SMPS. This issue can due to SMPS as well Plannar (motherboard) issue. But as per post i really doubt you have bad motherboard since you see BMC and other LEDS on motherboard gets blinking..

You can troubleshoot motherboard issue this way. Press and hold server power button. Check if this makes server start. If it starts, then its confirmed you have bad motherboard.. You may also inspect whether motherboard has bulged capacitors inside..

Thanks

Duo core motherboards will not support the bus speed or the power output to power on that processor. You need to upgrade the motherboard with the new processor.

Hello,

Depending on what caused the power outage, you may need to replace the power supply in the server. When outage happen and the power is restore. a power surge can destroy power supplies, especially if not connected to an UPS unit.

You should change to battery or switch to power outlet

This is typically caused by software that manages an uninterrupable power supply (aka UPS). Simply put, this is a battery that the server plugs into to so the server can run for a short time when there is a power outage.

UPS devices frequently come with software to communicate with the server so it knows when it is on battery. When the server is notified that it is on battery it will provide warning messages like the one you described. Some will even pass the notice to all computers connected to the server to make sure no work is lost.

One of the most popular programs is APC PowerChute. I would look for this program or other programs that have the words "UPS" and/or "power" in their name to find the cause.

I hope this helps.

When i Connect the power cable from ups to the power inlet on the server i get some funny noise. I try to put the machine on, no response.Seems no power getting the machine.

Maybe I am reading this wrong but it sounds like you are connecting the equipment in the wrong sequence. The service is plugged into the back of the UPS unit and the UPS is plugged into a wall outlet. The UPS is a power conditioner/surge protector that keeps your server from being fried if a sudden power surge goes through and it act as a back-up power source if you lose power. Try this new connection sequence and see if you have better luck.
