Cant charge my Logitech 1000i

My logitech 1000i universal remote started to have intermittent problems charging. I'd adjust the plug in the charging base unit and at a certain point it would charge. But now it will not charge at all. I feel it is the cable that's at fault. Any ideas.

If you have compressed air, try to blow into the end of the power cable that plugs into the charging base as well as the the charging base port for the power cable. Make sure that you don't shake the can or moisture will result, otherwise give it a little bit and replace the power cable into the charging base. How long have you had the remote? Logitech is real good about warranty issues.

If your Harmony remote is not charging on the base, try pressing down on the remote, and wiggling it around. It's just that the pins are not making contact (given that the LED on the charger is lit, indicating that the charger is receiving power).

If pressing down helps, you can fasten it on with a elasitc band or something so that it keeps charging. Also, if it is still under warranty, I woul advise contacting Logitech's wonderful support team to get replaced.

Hope that helps!

My Harmony One remote will no longer charge. I took the battery out of it and place it in my Harmony 880 and placed it in it charging cradle. It started charging. I know it is not a battery issue. Yes...

This is a common problem for these remotes. Constant handling of the remote results in dirty charging contacts located on the bottom of the remote. Oils and acids from your fingers and hands also dirty the charging contacts. Also the contacts on the charging cradle can become dirty and have been known to not make solid contact. I would recommend cleaning BOTH the charging contacts AND the cradle contacts using a Q-tip and some good quality rubbing alcohol.Be careful to just wet the Q-tip and gently scrub the contacts only. Careful regular maintenance should help you resolve this problem. Also you could check the Logitech website for recommendations on how to clean their equipment. You can also try the rubber band trick!! Which is while placing the remote into the docking cradle, listen for a beep which indicates a solid connection. While still maintaining a solid grip on both charger and remote wrap a rubber band around both devices. This should ensure a good connection while the remote is charging! Good Luck!

Charging dock wont charge remote any longer

Hello Sir, hi, we need to know where the trouble is, we have 2 to test, the charging dock and the remote control. to test the charging dock you may need to measure the voltage output of around 5 to 12 volts of the dock using a voltmeter usually used by a technician, Its easier if a friend has another dock. Or get another charging base. follow this link.

Remote wont charge in cradle or by usb connection...charge cradle seems to be working but remote is now flat...what do you suggest

Try pushing down on the remote to ensure that the pins are making contact. If that does not work, you can buy a new charger for the remote from Logitech. They are only $10.

Logitech harmony 1000i remote

If uprating the firmware has not fixed it, then it would seem to be a hardware failure. Is the remote still in warranty? If so, you can call Logitech to get it replaced.

My Harmony 1000i remote isn't responding to touch or won't turn

Hi. Try the following steps to get this fixed.

1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.
2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.

6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

Now, put the remote back into safe mode, then take the battery out and re-insert it. The calibration screen should come up. Touch the red dots to calibrate the screen.

Hope that helps!

Harmony 1000 Remote

Had the same problem.

My solution was.

  1. Boot remote into safe mode (Insert battery whilst holding down the power button)
  2. Update firmware from Logitech.
  3. Now this is the painful bit.... It will get to abou 42% then it will reboot. You wiil need to press and hols the power button down as soon as the screen goes blank. You will need to do this again at around 60%. If you select show details when updating the firmware you will see it say 'Rebooting remote'.
  4. Follow the remaining prompts.

Hope this helps.
