Question about KDS RAD-5GS 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Open Question

I have a KDS 15" LCD monitor. It has not plug and on the specification plaque on the bottom says 12V 2Amp power source. I have a plug with an output of 12V 2000MA but both are female and the power supply has the negative polarity on the outter part of the plug. So does it matter what the polarity is on the monitor and is 2amps the same as 2000 milli amps? Assuming I can find an adapter.

The white screen tells me that the display cable (inside your monitor) may be unattached or broken.
The color bands if they are vertical or horizontal lines tell me that your display cable needs to be replaced.

So overall replace your display cable. If this doesn't entirely fix the problem your logic board (inside the monitor) needs to be replaced.

Confirm that it is not the cable, otherwise it does indeed sound like your monitor is dead.

Kds model 780 monitor no signal, power button does not work

My monitor does the same thing at times and sometimes shows "No Signal" and at other times the screen will maintain the images but the backgound color switches to mustard yellow. In each of these cases I have been able to solve the problem by unplugging the power cord from the electical outlet for about three seconds and plugging it back in. I have a KDS model 780 LCD.
GOOD LUCK

Replacement External Power Supply

So the old power supply doesn't have the output voltage, current and polarity noted on the label? What a ripoff! *grin* Did you look on the case near where it plugs into the monitor? Sometimes that will tell you the voltasge and polarity. Poliarity? Get that one wrong and the monitor could be cooked instantly! But it's usually positive. I found a completed eBay listing that had this info: "the power supply which the seller used to power up this Planar Flat Panel is inventoried as follows: ViewSonic 12V Power Adaptor Model # SYS1126-5012" I looked that one up, and it's listed as 12V at 4.17A. PC Hub has them for $28.62: http://www.pchub.com/uph/laptop/345-19804-2285/AC_Power_Adapter_5V-12V_Others_SYS1126-5012.html Good luck!
