Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook

In my Acer Aspire One, need eRecovery info..

In my Acer Aspire One, I can't get to the bios recovery tool because i reformatted with a dell xp home sp1 disc. i used partedit32 to get access to my backup partition called PQSERVICE (D:) and now i need to know what file i open/run to start to disk recovery. there is a list of all folders and files here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t2428591-access_erecovery_management_other . when i open "D2D32", Acer eRecovery management pops up and gives me the options "restore system to factory default" or "exit". when i click "restore system to factory default" it says all data on drive C: will be overwritten and gives me a file size of 144.2GB. I have a 160GB hdd, so does this mean my D: partition is safe? can i run it and expect it to be back to new?

ok, so i tried it and it said "Partition fail to be formatted" then
"press ok to restart windows" so i hit ok and it didn't restart. so i
restarted anyway and it didn't do anything. i tried it with D2D both
enabled and disabled, both times it failed to reformat. any idea why? am i clicking the wrong file?

pissedoff, i tried the D2D32 file and it didn't work.. do you know how i can access the eRecovery manager, or why it failed? the problem is that i have already used a dell disk to reformat C: and the only way i can get to D: (PQSERVICE partition) is by using the partedit32 program.. is there a way i can pull the eRecovery up from just opening the partition in mycomputer, now that it is visible?

Yes, it will reformat and install everything you came with new, I own one and have had to recover it twice, but never use another manufacturers os disk on anything but the intended unit as it can cause conflicts or serious ir recoverable harm to the unit.

How do I restart my ACER ASPIRE 5532 from the hard drive.

Acer Aspire eRecovery
The Acer Aspire eRecovery tool comes in both a DOS and a Windows version with the Windows version offering more features. To open the DOS version, boot up your computer and press the Alt + F10 key combination when you see the Acer splash screen. To open the Windows version, allow Windows to load and then open Acer eManager followed by double-clicking the eRecovery link.
Using the eRecovery tool is fairly simple once you have it launched. You can either restore your Acer Aspire to factory settings from the hidden partition or with the recovery CDs. Once eRecovery loads, you may be prompted to enter a password. According to Acer, the default password is: 000000. If you have not changed the password, enter these six zeros when prompted.

Want to wipe my acer aspire one, do not have discs. my 'home' pc has xp. am selling acer, have not downloaded programs from home pc, but just 'sign in' to it via acer. use acer mainly for email and...

The Acer Aspire One has a hidden partition which allows restoring of the operating system partition to its factory default condition via Acer eRecovery Management. The restoration clears all user data and so in effect is a "wipe" of your aspire one. The simplest way to enter Acer eRecovery Management is to press the Alt and F10 keys together on power-up while the Acer logo is displayed then follow the on-screen instructions to do the recovery.

Brand new acer aspire won't load windows xp

If you can still get into the BIOS, see if you have an option for D2D recovery. if so, make sure it is enabled.

restart the system and hold down Alt+f10. if your recovery partition is still intact, this should start a factory reload of your system.

Forgot empowering technologies password to use erecovery on my aspire 4520

There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.
