All the mower wants to do is crank over. I don't know where the fuel filter might be on this mower. I'm thinking it might be a fuel issue.

Lawn boy lawn mower no spark

If your spark plug is good, check the safety switch connected to the cable leading from the safety lever. Most of these operate with simple principle where the handle is moved into the safe or running position ...thereby moving the cable to cause a separation of the contacts and a resulting " breaking of the electrical ground". These switches are cheaply made and often wear out or can become mis-adjusted due to wear from constant use and vibration. You may have to remove the top cover on the engine to access it.

Why will Ariens lawn mower starter engine not turn over?

These machines have carb and coil issues. Check for fire. Nice when new, but once a little age creeps in, the engines just aren't that sturdy. Sorry, but as a small equipment mechanic, I don't recommend Lawn Boy. Next time, buy another brand.

I changed oil, blade, spark plug, air filter on tecumseh lawn boy 10685 mower...now it will not start!!! gas tank was emptied, per instructions. before changes, it started right up on first pull before...

Hi

Make sure the blade and shaft can easily be moved by hand. First, remove the spark plug wire from the plug. Reach under the mower and see if the blade will turn or if something is stuck between the blade and the mower. Also remember that you have to hold the safety bar when you are starting the mower or the engine won't turn. It is possible that the cable from the safety bar to the engine brake has come loose. Follow the cable from the safety bar to the engine and make sure it is working. Also check whether the line from the gas tank to the engine is crimped?

2 cycle lawn-boy self propelled 6.5 hp Gold Pro Won't start

If you replaced the plug and still dont have any spark you probably need a new coil. If you do it yourself and find the coil on Ebay or a good onliine parts seller you could do it for a reasonable price.

Lawn boy 2 cycle mower won't start

Replace the spark plug and retry.
If a new plug does not work push the spring button on the bottom of the carburetor to make sure fresh fuel is in the fuel bowl.
if this does not work remove the spark plug and squirt some light oil (like wd 40) right into the spark plug hole; roll the engine over slowly a couple times using the starter rope. put the plug back in and snap the plug wire in place. If the mower now starts after a couple pulls it means the rings are worn, replace the rings.

Engine will not start, no spark

Try taking of the engine shroud and cleaning the magnets on the fly wheel. Also clean the two little prongs that are really close to the fly wheel. Use fine sand paper or emery cloth. Then check the spark plug wire for rust (clean if any). Try replacing the spark plug if it is old.

Let me know if this helps.

Stalling

I have same mower and just fixed what seems like a similar problem description. I had gone down the fuel system route and the symptoms just didn't add up. Stopped abruptly w/o sputtering once I reached warm-up temp. Replaced the solid state ignition (34443C now part number 3444D). Problem corrected and just mowed my 1/3rd acre w/ no issues.
