Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
I have an emachine t2892. i put a geforce2 (mx 400) video card in and when i started the machine up it didn't do anything but beep at me. I took the card back out and it still just beeps at me and i don't know how to fix it. Is there something i can try to get the thing to boot back up?
It definitely sounds like a ram issue pull out all your ram and one by one put a ram stick in the first slot and turn on your pc if this fixes the problem and all your ram sticks are good then continue testing each dimm slott until the problem re-occurs and that slot is most likely toast

First see RAM is inserted properly or not if not
take out our RAM and and reinstalled it .

Review your replacement process to make sure that you didn't accidentally drop any screws, or anything else metallic, into the motherboard area. (Yes, it's a dumb thing to do, but we have all done it at least once. Did I ever tell you about the time that I managed to unknowingly drop a staple down in the motherboard? )
The next thing to do is to reseat all of the cable connectors on the motherboard and drives. Remove all of the cards, make sure that the cards slots are clean (No lint and such), make sure that the card connectors are clean and reseat the cards. Be sure to install all card holding clips and/or screws.
