Do you have restore discs or windows installation cd? please try to reinstall the windows to the computer and see if it solves the problem.

Also when the computer shuts down, try taking the battery out and then the power adapter, wait 5 minutes press the power button down for 1 minute, plut the power back in and try turning it on.

Does it turn on?

You don't actually need to go into windows to reinstall windows, start from the cd and perform the install, does it shutdown during the instal?

If so then I would highly recommend taking the laptop to repair, are you on warranty? the mainboard might need to be replaced.

If you are on warranty Contact hp for free repair service.

Can you tell me the following few things :-
1. Your laptop shuts down through proper channel i.e. windows is shutting down and then shuts down or just it crashes.
2. Try to press ctrl+alt+del when your screen goes back. Any results.
3. If after shut down you press power button for 15 seconds on your laptop what happens.
4. Have you installed any new hardware recently.
These information from your side are required for providing solution to your question

    "Output Output power 65W 65W
    DC output 18.5V
Hold-up time 5 msec at 115 VAC input
Output current limit <5A, Over voltage protection- 29V maxautomatic shutdown"

Above specifications are copied from your notebook manual. If you are not getting the correct input your processor is supposed to automatically shut down and to me it seems this is the problem. So if you can check yourself for the correct input ratings then kindly do or else call the electrician and show him the above specifications and tell him to fix it for you.

I'm giving you a link for your notebook's manual for your future use.

compaq presario C700 is not having automatic shutdown feature. Thats why it is working smoothly on that ac input. There is no such feature available through which we can stop the automatic shut down in your note book. It has to be provided with correct inputs.

Have you tried this note book with your office or somewhere else's ac supply

sounds like your motor is overheating or going bad. sometimes lint built up around the motor can cause it to overheat. or the motor is dying.

HP 530

When you run the score it breaks it down into different areas - processing, graphics etc.

Which is the lowest? ie which is dragging your score down?

This is the area you will need to improve - if it is graphics causing the low score you will be out of luck as it is inbuilt but you could improve storage and memory.

Dell Inspiron 530 randomly shuts down and restarts

Sounds like it could be a virus. Or, a heat buildup problem - are all fans inside machine working? Is the fan inside the power supply operating? Was there any work done inside the computer recently?
If the hdw is all ok, go out and buy yourself a copy of Norton Internet Security 2009 - 1 user lic - $49.99 @ Staples. Do *not* buy any earlier vers. of this software! Install, update it, run computer computer scan - probably will find/remove some/many viruses.

If this helps, please take the time to rate my response to you.
Thanks and good luck.

Keyboard characters stop showing

This will happens due to 2 reasons 1. Your memory is low. 2. Your system is infected with malware/spyware.
Check your CPU utilization in task manager. Should not utilize 100%.
For this you need to download Antimalware like malwarebytes and clean the entire system.
Or Have to increase the RAM.
Hope this will be usefull
Thanks & Regards Nanda Kishore.
