My RCA full HD 1080p won't change it's picture settings from wide or dot by dot.

It only allows dot by dot setting or wide it doesn't even give the option for the other settings. The old picture setting are not shown any more.

SOURCE: Have RCA 1080p model number 46LA45RQ has a blue

if it is a single blue dot one pixel wide and one pixel tall thats probably normal. If it is bigger than that I would RMA the thing while you still can. LCDs are often sold with bad pixels. Not ussually more than a few. Its in the manufacturing process and is within tolerance limits. I forget how many the going standard is. Good luck with it sounds like a nice TV.

Picture too wide on tv

Sounds like you have the "Wide" mode set to Zoom or wide zoom. Also if you are on Comcast cable the cable box has a setting of Zoom and full. Set your TV's zoom setting to "Full" and the cable box to Full. I don't have an LG so you'll have to find these settings yourself..

How do I change my LG 4k to a higher resolution.

It depends on your source video resolution. If you're willing to play in 4K, you can upscale your 1080p or 720p video to 4K resolution in advance. Here is the video tutorial:
After conversion, it will be played in 4K on your TV. Of course, it's all based on that your TV supports 4K.

How do i get a full picture on my secnium hd tv?

Hello

To get the picture full screen come to screen aspect ratio settings.

The Screen Format feature allows you to change how the image of a 4:3 picture

is displayed on your 16:9 screen. The options are Normal, Zoom or Stretch. If

your TV receives an image with a 4:3 aspect ratio, the image can be displayed in

one of three ways:

Normal The image of a 4:3 video signal is centered with black bars on the
right and left sides of the screen

To get ito this setting mode
Enter the main menu and go to preferences select the screen format; option-2; and change the settings to get a full picture.
OK.

I have a sylvania 1080p HDTV and can't figure out how to get it to 1080p it is at 480i ???? any help would be greatly appreciated

The signal coming from your cable box, FTA receiver, or whatever source, is usually what drives your TV's resolution. If this happens with a Scientific Atlanta HD cable box, for instance, there's a "Setup" button on the remote control that allows you to indicate how your TV interacts with the box and responds to resolution changes, depending on whether the signal is SDTV (4:3) or HDTV (16:9).
In my case, with my Sanyo 50" 1080p HDTV, I get the best of both worlds by using the setting (I forget what it's called) that gives me two "pillars", one on each side of the picture, when the latter is standard definition, and full wide screen picture when the signal is HD. These pillars are of some shade of grey, in order to activate the pixels on the side of the picture and avoid the burning of the standard, 4:3 formatted screen on my plasma pixels.
Failing that, look into your user's manual and see whether this is something you can set within the TV's configuration menu.
Last, investigate the different options offered by the TV's own Setup menu, usually available from the TV's remote control.
Good luck!

Can't get full screen

I have a Vizio. If I use the HDMI input I can only get normal and zoom w/ picture buttom on the remote but get full picture on all cable supplied HD channels but not on none HD channels. However, if I switch cable input, I have the TV set up with both inputs from the converter box, I am able to have the options of normal, panoramic, wide and zoom on all non HD channels. I don;t like the black bars top and bottom of the HD channels with this imput mode so I switch back to HDMI. Maybe your TV is simmilar.
