Re: microsoft office stopped working properly
Ok no problem, normally using a disk defragmentor will not harm programs or how your computer runs at all, only speeds it up by getting everything to work in sync which is good.
ok....if you are using vista, go to control panel, then programs and features, find Microsoft office 2004 or 2007 and click on it to highlight, now right click on it again, you will see some options come up, select repair and follow onscreen instructions
....if that doesn't work select uninstall by right clicking on it again and follow instructions, this will remove microsoft office from your computer ok, then use your install cd/dvd to re install microsoft office suite.
........also i think it is possible to use your install disc/s to repair or reinstall.

Here's how you can defragment your disk:
Windows Vista, 7:
Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Disk Defragmenter, and then, in the list of results, click Disk Defragmenter.
Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment.
To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk.
Click Defragment disk. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Disk Defragmenter might take from several minutes to a few hours to finish, depending on the size and degree of fragmentation of your hard disk. You can still use your computer during the defragmentation process.
Open My Computer.
Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment, and then click Properties.
This because, office is not installed properly.
-- first uninstall Office using installation disk
-- reboot system and copy of office SW on hard disk
-- Start installation from the SW dump on HDD.
-- Select complete installation during the process.
-- Restart System
