Magellen GPS is shows that there is low battery even though it is plugged into my cigarette lighter. It'll sometimes shut off, but most times it'll just keep on posting that notice.

Many auto accessory power outlets are only active when the ignition key is on or in the accessory position. It won't keep the GPS powered in the off position.
