The batteries in the keyboard are lithium batteries for the whole computer. The Screen should be located in the socket and the ac power adaptor plugged in. The power indicator and Battery indicator should be on see photo.
Press the power on button, if you cannot use the keyboard try the mouse to select the control panel and check the keyboard is enabled.
Probably overheating due to extreme dust clogging the CPU cooling heatsink and fan. Take off the side panel and blow it out with compressed air, and make sure all the circulation fans are running.
