Question about SanDisk Sansa m240 MP3 Player

Uploading problems when i try to upload music to the sansa c240 i get this error Error Copying File The file "name" could not be copied. It may not exist or is being used by another program. I rip my CDs to mp3 using MusicMatch Jukebox 7.5. Everything worked fine when transferring to my Sansa m240 and e250 until two days ago when I tried to load some new songs onto the player and started to get the same message about the file either not existing or being used by another program. I also find that I cannot play the mp3s in MusicMatch. As far as I know, no other program is running. I'm stumped. Has anyone found a fix?

When i try to upload music to my sansa e260, the rhapsody tells me that there a general error with the song (error 80070570). What's that supost to mean?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

The Sharper Image 2GB Mp3 (1612788) Is Not Copying Music Files

The Sharper image 2gb player will only allow 131 entries in the root directory. Create a new folder, just like on your computer, and then add music files to that folder. I have not tested if there is a file limit in a new folder.

New C240 has no USB option in Settings

Sorry about the delay...I understand that you are getting device certificate error..There are two ways you can solve the device certificate..the first one is by formatting your device and the second one is by updating the firmware..I understand you have done that already..maybe something went wrong when you were doing the firmware upgrade..You should be able to transfer music from rhapsody to your device..You have to make sure that the songs you are trying to transfer to your device have the proper license..If after you have done all the steps above you are still having the same can contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you..or you can contact sandisk at 1-866-726-3475..I hope that helps

The media device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected

Make sure you're not using the media with another program while you attempt to copy/sync it to your device.

Trouble seeing nonmusic files.

Not sure if this will help, but you could try a couple things:
1. Search for it. There should be a search option somewhere in the explorer window or on the start menu. If you know the name of the .rar file, you can search the mp3 player for it.
2. Go to your Control Panel -> Folder Options. Under the tab "view" make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.

Anyway, that's what I would try first.

here are a few different possibilities.
0.5) make sure the songs are in mp3 or WMA format
1)Your subscription to your digital music service such as Napster, etc has expired. Sorry - unless you renew your subscription, you will not be able to play these songs again.
2) Your songs have DRM-encryption on them. To check and see, right click on an individual song name in Windows Media Player, and click on "License" or "Digital Rights"; if the affected songs have DRM encryption, then get DRM-removal software.
3) Your songs do NOT have DRM-encryption on them. In this instance, follow the procedure for item#2, except click on the link in the License or digital Rights tab that says "acquire license" (make sure you are connected to the internet first).

Empty folder

There may be possible reasons why your Sansa E250 would display an message on the LCD even when you've downloaded files to it: (1) The music file type is not supported by the player. Sansa players support only MP3 and WMA files. To determine what file type your have, right click on the file type and it should display the "properties" dialog box. Check if it is MP3 or WMA. For example, iTunes music files will not work with the player, nor will WAV or MIDI files. (2) Your music files are supported but the bit rate is not within the range that the player supports. Sansa players support MP3 files up to 128 KBPS and WMA files up to 64 KBPS. You may need to use a 3rd party music file editor to convert the files to a supported bit rate (3) You may have saved your music files in a folder and copied the folder to the player. Your Sansa E250 will not recognize folders. Either save them in the root directory or inside the "Music" folder -- your player's default folder for music files. Hope this info helps :)
