Any speaker that can handle 100 watts or more. This receiver is rated for 100 watts per channel into an 8 ohm speaker. If the speaker is less than that, it will make the amplifier work harder and heat up faster.

SOURCE: pioneer receiver vsx d814 amp error

The Pioneer VSX-D814 has a couple of Power Hybrid bricks that do all the power amplification. These are the infamous PAC011A. You should have 2 of those in your receiver.

If the amp detects some unusual activities, it may shut down the unit to prevent damage. “Amp Err” usually means some DC in the output.

Disconnect all the speakers and turn on the unit; if it acts normal, reconnect speakers one set at a time very carefully. If the unit still shows the error message you can try to reset it. If the reset works, again carefully reconnect the speakers connections. If the reset does not recover the normal operation of the unit, you may have one of the PAC011A damaged, and the unit will need repair.
The reset can be done by disconnecting the unit power cord for a few minutes, then plug it in and press “FRONT ENTER key + ADVANCED SURROUND key” continuously for 2sec.

Good luck

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

SOURCE: pioneer vsx-519 no sound from center and surround

Make sure that the sound field/programme you have selected is dolby digital not stereo.(On the amp)
You also need to check on the display that is says DIGITAL not ANOLOUGE, as only a digital input, Optical fibre cable, HDMI, COAX will be a digital signal.
If you are using red and white rca connectors, it is not going to work, as this is an Anolouge signal.

SOURCE: pioneer receiver vsx-d510 sub not working

Rear Surrounds are not supported on this unit, they would be the 6th and 7th channels in a 7.1 rig. I think you mean Surrounds (channels 4 and 5 in a 5.1 rig).

Lets ponder: How is there any relationship between Surrounds and your separately-amplified Subwoofer? I don't see it, unless you inadvertently chose OFF for the Sub definition when you were in the Speaker selection menus adding the Surrounds. Look again.

The protection circiuts detected false more likely in the audio power amp circuits. Turn off all the speaker outputs or disconnect all the speaker wires to see if the fasle gose away. If it is power amp problem, it will cost way too much to have the shop troubleshoot it down to component level.

I have pioneer receiver Vsx-454 i want to know if this receiver is 5.1 surrounds

Yes. It is 5.1 surround. There are 2 front channels, 1 center channel, and 2 rear channels which comprise the "5" in 5.1 surround. The pre-amp output channel for a sub is the ".5".

This is not a pioneer vsx-454 receiver problem

I would not recomend doing this because the 4 ohm speaker is not enough to offset the 32 ohm speaker and the amp will have problems keeping up with the power consumption of the speakers and will eventully overheat and cause damage! (it will work but not well and not without risk to your amp!)

Amatuer needs sub-woofer advice for Pioneer VSX-454...

Based upon your description, the subwoofer is just a speaker and is taken from the normal speaker outputs. Run your A channel to the sub and then from the sub to the left and right front speakers. That should do it.

Left Speakers not working on A or B channel

Have you tryed yet to switch the right speaker where the left one is? If it works then you know the speaker is bad. If you move the left speaker over to the right channel and it works and sound now comes out of the left speaker, you know there is a fault in the amp somehwre. If your not a tech and have not had any solid state equipment repair experience, then your going to have to have the amp serviced by a trained tech.. Good Luck
