The cable for the back light inverter board may have come off on the mother board side or on the screen side.

2) Failed inverter board.
3) Failed lamp.

Laptop display goes blank after a second, not lcd inverter

I have had a similar issue with an LCD monitor and the issue was not with the inverter itself but the backlights. They can go bad and short (which is where my issue was. Once they were removed the screen was working again (the lights needed replaced).

it is a design/manufacturing flaw in the gpu
nvidia is being sued over this
