Re: my player doesnt play movies

Need to know the country that your DVD player was set for and the brand. Some MFRs do not have a code selection in the service mode set up. Also, were the movies in question come from your country of oigin? Accordianman

Dvd player not working says error but will play movies like block buster movies if u cant answer that question .. just tell me what kind of movies its compatible with for i can make them myself

dvd player will only play movies for the COUNTRY in which you purchased it. There is no way to purchase a system or configure a system to play ALL MEDIA FOR ALL COUNTRIES. The country codes are specific and each country wants to prevent any other country from playing their dvds music, etc.

What type of dvd used for player

Only a thought but not all DVD players recognise movies on recordable DVDs only original movie DVDs. This is more noticeable on brand players such as Sony.
The cheap models seem to recognise all regions, formats and DVD types.

To change the region code on the UV8 you must have a dvd playing and 1. with the remote press setup 2. then enter 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. This gives you access to firmware menu. 3. arrow down to tools "system settings" (you should be able to use the touchscreen) enter on region a menu opens and select "0" to make it region free. You can also go down to the brake bypass menu here to to put in "off" mode so you can see movies while driving.

If you are watching "burned" movies or "back ups" this usually happens when the movie is burned. There is a region selector make sure it is for NTSC.

Jensen MVB85 A8.5 dvd player

Problem: All DVDs would not play in Jensen MVB85A overhead 8.5 DVD player. Error code: "Incorrect Region Code"

1. Use the remote to power on DVD player
2. Ensure there are NO DVDs in the drive
3. When you see the DVD logo screen, press 9653 on the remote
4. A hidden menu will open stating the region code. My region code was set to 0 and my I was receiving the error.
5. Press the "OK" button to change the Region Code to "1".

Once the region code was set to 1 all DVDs were playing.

Error-2-99 showing on my dvd

the lens on the laser maybe fogging and will need cleaning or you may need to replace the laser because it's not as effective as it used to be, the lens is mounted on a delicate spring which when electrified moves to focus on the dvd and in time the spring gets stretched and therefore becomes less effective and there ends our lesson for today, I hope you found this helpful
