Camera says error formatting memory stick

I am not quite sure what happened to my camera. One of my friends was messing around with my camera and now when I turn it on it won't allow me to take a picture, view my pictures, or upload my pictures to my computer when I connect my cord to my camera. It just says "error formatting memory stick" across the display.
