I have no picture. The lamps aren't even firing. I was getting a 12 code and now I am receiving a 23 code. I can get sound just no picture. Help!
I would look to see if any of the CRT cooling fluid has leaked onto any of the circuit boards. You can do this pulling the front grill off the front of the unit, then remove he screws holding the wooden access cover. Then look carefully around the boards nearest the front of the set. it will be obvious if you see any. Bad news is that if you see any, put it out to pasture. The cost to repair would be more than replacement. Any of the boards that are found with that leakage on it must be replaced and all the CRT's should be replaced to make sure of no more leak problem or color imbalance due to new and old CRT's .
I hope this helps,

It would look like clear droplets or a small pool of clear liquid on one or more of the three boards on the bottom.(Signal board, Power/Convergence Board, HV Board). In severe cases the area would be grayish or blacken due to the corrosion properties of the liquid. The paste areas you see are normal on the CRT Boards.
What is the model # and serial #. I may be able to get better info for you.
If you are handy with a VOM , unplug the unit, take the back off and look at the center board(Power/Convergence board), carefully look for green pico fuses. these would be more on the left side of the of the board. They would look similarly to resistors. When measuring, they should all read 0 ohms. if any read high or open, what ever circuit the correspond to is faulty. If you don't feel confident in doing this, get a Auth. Serviceman to check it.
I hope I did'nt go overboard on this. Good luck.

Dust does occur. TVs seen to just draw it in. The setting of your Multi Meter was fine. I'm getting a feeling that you may have a issue on the HV Deflection board. I will what I can find out with some other sources I have. I 'll get back to you as quickly as I can.

I have found out that the first code you can ignore. The second code(23) is telling you that the Horizontal and or Vertical circuit has failed. It was suggested to me that the Yoke Connections be checked at the Yokes themselves. It is common for the solder connections to open up for the Horizontal part of the connector.
since it is wired in series from Yoke to Yoke, it only takes one of the connetores to open up to cause the problem.
If the connectors are not the the problem. You can order the Main Board (The Deflection HV Board) from Mitsubishi at 800-553-7278 with part # 930B866006. Retail cost of the part from them is 415.00.
Well this all I got for you,
I hope it helps you to getter go'en

LED Indications
The front panel Status LED provides an indication of
the set's operation and the possible cause of a malfunction.
If an abnormal condition is indicated, perform the
Self Diagnostics procedure.
Self Diagnostics
To activate, press the front panel <ACTIVITY> &<CH
??> buttons at the same time and hold for 5 seconds.
The STATUS LED will then flash denoting a two digit
code.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the
MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2
second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the
(ones digit) of the Error Code.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED
will flash two times, pause, and then flash three
times.
Table 2-2: LED Indications
Error Codes, descriiptions and the most likely cause of
the error are listed in Table 2-3.
Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down." The LED
will probably be indicating an abnormal
condition. If the TV is switched Off, AC is
removed, or a System Reset is performed, the
code automatically resets to "12" No Error.
See the Error Code Log to retrieve a history of
errors.
Note: Use the front panel buttons, not the remote
control.
Note: If there is no response, the front panel may be
locked by a V-Chip setting. To unlock, press
and hold <ACTIVITY> on the front panel for
8 seconds.
LED Indication Condition
Off Off (standby)
Green Power On
Slow Blink Green Power Off with Timer Set
Fast Blink Green (80 seconds) > Off Power Off (Cooling fan still working, 80 sec)
LED Indication Condition
Red Lamp Failure
Yellow TV Too Hot
Slow Blink Red TV May Require Service
Slow Blink Yellow Lamp Door Open or No Lamp Installed
NORMAL INDICATIONS
ABNORMAL INDICATIONS (For details perform Self Diagnostics Procedure.)

Thanks for the reply, however, there is no evidence at all that there was any kind of leakage.
You say that it would be obvious, what exactly would it look like? The only thing that I see that is obvious is some kind of "paste" around the lamp bases. It is there on all three so I'm kind of led to think that this is supposed too be there.
It was running for about 5 minutes with a 12 code. Sound but no picture. Then it shut itself off and now I get a 23 code and it turns off in a second or two.
Hi again, Model WS-55809, Serial #120316, and after reading some of the other postings, the picos were one of the first things I checked. No problems there, Three 5A's are good; one 10A is good; two 7A's are good. I have my multimeter set at 2000 ohms, would that be adequate?
I'm an electrician by trade so I've dealt with fuses before, however, these picos are new to me. One thing I do see, a ton of dust!
