Cds wont work on e521 with vista

I put a cd in and nothing happens. The green indicator blinks but cd won't play.

You're CD drive is defective. See if the CD works in you're DVD player. If so then the CD drive in you're computer is defective.

You need to replace your DVD Rom. They're about $20.

could be a bad cd. did you try a different cd.

E521 motherboards are pretty reasonable: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=dell+e521+motherboard&_sacat=See-All-Categories so it is worthwhile to fix.
The 570 is a decent system although I am still an Intel guy myself

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...
3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

I have a very litlle cd im afraid it will get stuck in the big insert. what should i do?
trust me it wont. cd drives have two sections one for small cds and one for big. make sure it's dead centre and you will be fine

the cds you put in there are not compatible to the player.if it had been playing the same cds then it is time to take your set to a tech for repair it can be your memory chip or your lens.good luck.

this happens all the time, instead of getting CD-Rs, try getting the CD-R Music, they are specially made to be played on CD players, I buy these all the time and they work in every CD player.
