solution is asking me to buy a solution. That's not what I expected to get. Just give me the kind of sequence of inputs that previous suppliers of dvd players have given me peter scott

  • panscott1 Jun 27, 2009

This is not a solution at all. I know from previous experience with dvd players bought in australia from other suppliers that there is a solution. I hope I'm not being charged for this Peter Scott

If that doesn't work try the code 76884 in step 3, step 4 should display your region in the top left corner of your screen. Again, let me know if it doesn't work

This is a firmware hack. It requires software modification.
There is no keystroke/button series that will make this player region-free.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

As Many DVD comes with region code to protect dvd content from playing in any other device or DVD drive as well as copy protection. so if you want to making the DVD region free, watch and copy multi region-coded DVD on any DVD player and any DVD player software, back up protected DVD to computer and convert DVD Movie to play on iPod iPhone PSP, et portable players, you have to remove DVD region code....

Here we have one great software "Daniusoft DVD Ripper" which can remove region code from any DVD. Not just remove DVD region code and copy DVD to computer with 1:1 lossless quality, Daniusoft DVD Ripperis also capable of converting DVD Movie to other Video auido format to play on portable players like iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Blackberry, etc.

Insert your DVD disc into your DVD-Rom (Ensure that you have sufficient space on hard drive to store the DVD). here you may worry about your DVD Drive can't read the DVD Disc because of the incompatibility of region code, yeah, normally, DVD drive in region 1 can't read and play DVDs that purchased from the UK(region 2)or other areas, but with Daniusoft DVD Ripper, anything will become simple, it will automatically bypass the DVD Drive, you can play DVD with DVD Player software on your computer without restriction.....

the other alternate solution is that visit the following link and it will solve ur problem for sure and i assure u..

What is the country code for australia - lg dvd recorder

The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.

Hope this information is useful to you.

I bought a playstation 3 in South Africa and have moved to Australia and I can get any game or DVD to play on it that I have bought in Australia why?

I think you wanted to write that you CAN'T watch DVDs or play games bought in Australia on your PS3.
The reason is the region code of your playstation. It only can play Region Code 2 DVDs and games. In Australia you only can buy Region Code 4 media.
You need to buy your media from south africa or Europe. Some blueray-discs are region code free. You can check this on: http://www.blurayregioncodes.com/
As far as I know it's not possible at the moment to change the region code of the play station.

Region code 4 on Samsung DVD-VR355 player/recorder

I live in Australia and have two Samsung DVD/VCR player recorders, DVD-VR375 and DVD-VR355. I could only play Region 4 DVDs until I pressed DVD, with no DVD in the units, pressed Menu then 76884, then 9, inserted a Region 1 DVd and it played in both units.

Hi i was after a no region code for a dvd player!!!

To unlock the DVD code its defends upon what region you belongs or from were you bought the DVD unit. Just click this site to hack the region code ; http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

To keep it simple, this means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)

REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...

LG DVD player LG276

I picked up a LG DV276 DVD Player here in Australia but I am from the United States so I own region 1 DVDs. I unlocked my new player by instead 1. Open the tray. 2. Press 0 0 0 0 on the remote and a Menu will appear. 3. Press 0 for region free. 4. Press pause and power off.

I can play everything now, Aussie and US DVDs. Thanks LJ66.
