SOURCE: My Amana dryer model number LE7153WM does not heating

The thermal fuse and the heating element would be the likely suspects. Both can be checked with an ohm meter. If there is no continuity, it indicates a defective component. Neither is repairable and if either component is bad, it will have to be replaced. Hope this helped. Good luck.

SOURCE: getting to heating element/thermal fuse for amana model LED 20AW

I just replaced mine by taking the bottom off, but in hindsight I think I should have been able to do it by just removing the lower front panel. With long arms, you should be able to reach back and loosen the two bolts holding it in place. Good luck!

Does not produce heat to dry clothes

The ehating element is relatively easy to replace. You should be able to find a scematic wiring diagram in the owners manual. If you dont have one check on line they may have one on thier web page. While you are doing this go ahaed and check your master thermal fuse. It will be depicted onm the diagram to. The fuse is usually the cause.

HEating element

The heating element is located in the bottom left corner. You will need to remove the drum for access. Once you have the drum out of the way, look for a square box with wires attached. There are 10mm fasteners that hold the heating element to the vent. Rome the screws, mark the wires and positions then remove the heating element. Before replacing the element make sure the thermal fuse and the high limit switches are not faulty.
