Question about Frigidaire GL38LKEC (LP) Grill

Inconsistent lighting but plenty of gas flow

I have a Frigidaire Gallery series 38" gas grill and only 1 of the 3 ignition "forks" light consistently. There is power that gets to the other 2 forks because they spark periodically. It is like the spark in the forks is not hot enough to ignight the burner. There is plenty of gas flow at the location of the defective forks allowing a match to immediately ignight the burner. Is there a place to get replacement "forks" and these forks appear to be hardwired into the lighter system, so if a person was to get a new "fork" how would a person rewire the new part it.

I stated that that there was no issue with the flow of gas only it appears to be in the "heat" of the ignition fork as a match ignights the burner easily. I want to know if new ignition forks are available and how to replace the inconsistently firing ones in my grill.

My question was a 2 part question and you answered the first in giving me the part number. Now tell me how to wire this new igniter electrode in place.

If you notice that your Barbecue is getting hard to light or that the flame isn't as strong as it should be, take the time to check and clean the VENTURIS. In some areas of the country, spiders or small inserts have been known to create "flashback" problems. The spiders spin webs, build nests, and lay eggs in the BARBECUE VENTURI TUBE (s)obstructing the flow of gas to the BURNER. The backed-up gas can ignite in the venturis behind the control panel. This is known as a flashback, and it can damage your Barbecue and even cause injury. To prevent flashbacks and ensure good performance the BARBECUE BURNER and VENTURI assembly should be removed from the grill and cleaned before use whenever the BARBECUE has been idle for an extended period of time.

Also, when you lite the BBQ, make sure that you turn the gas on at the tank, wait a couple of minutes and then turn the knob on and light the burner. This is to make sure that the pressure is regulated and sufficient prior to lighting.

Hope this helps!

A few months ago I lost one igniter on the left front burner. It clicks and gas flows but wont ignite. Now when I turn on the left back burner, the gas still flows but I hear clicking on the right side, not from that burner. It wont light either.

The gas burner is not lighting

You may have an issue with not getting enough gas. Also it could be that the igniters are bad. Have a local repairman check it out, you dont want to mess around with a gas system without knowing what your doing just for safety sake.

How do i light this gas grill, it is a charbroil quantum....it was borrowed from our friend, who is now not picking up the phone...

Checklist:
1-Make sure propane tank has propane in it.
2-Turn regulator (valve attached to propane tank) on.
3-Turn burner dials on, usually there is a "light" or "ignite" position to let the most gas flow to start. If there isn't, just turn it/them to high.
4-Listen for the hissing, if you hear some hissing from the grill, it has gas flow.
5-Turn the dials back off and give 3-5 minutes for gas to clear.
6-Turn dials back on and hit the igniter button.
That should do it! :)

Good answer... but remember (if you have the regular burners on... The Rotisserie will not light.) 1. Cut all knobs off... Then push and hold in Rotisserie button as you turn to high.
2. Press ignition button, until you hear rotisserie ignite. 3. Keep holding in the rotisserie button until the thermostat realizes the gas is on and burning. (IT must get hot enough to keep gas flowing.) Hope that helps, Dave
