Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L Top Load Washer
I doubt that 3357976 is the model number but when it starts and its time for the agitater to churn and wash, there is a loud humming noise and no movement, U dont see how to get inside the unit to check things out either. Thank u
Sounds like i could be a bad coupling, most whirlpool washers are direct drive so there is not a belt, there is however a linkage between the motor and transmission. Pull the machine out and tilt it back. check on the floor directly beneath the washer for a pile of blck dust (this can be an idication of a bad coupler) make sure you wedge something underneath it so it dont fall on you while working on it. remove the pump by levering off the 2 clips, push the pump aside then remove the 2 screws holding the motor clips...remove the wire harness on the motor and then remove the 2 clips holding the motor in plce with a screw driver. now you should be able to drop the motor out...the coupling is the tripod shaped plastic attached to the motor and another to the transmission, they have a black round rubber linkage with 6 holes...examine this for damage and replace if damaged. re-assemble washer in reverse order.
