Is there a special wrench to remove the axle pinch bolts? A socket wrench does not work due to round pleated bolt. I'm concerned allen wrench will strip bolt.
If you're trying to use a 6 point socket,

Notice how the "points" are squared off (flattened).
For these, you'll need a "spline bolt socket":

SOURCE: 2003 honda shadow spirit vt750 carbs
It is different then most other carbs. DON"T DRILL ANY BRASS HEADS LOOKING FOR THE AIR FUEL MIXTURE. The air fuel mixture is the only adjustment you can make. It is located on the bottom side of the air intake, right behind the air filter box. It looks like a 1/4" flat metal plug. Do NOT drill this. There is no slot for a screw driver. There is a tool which is no more then a small piece of pipe that fits over this plug and you turn it in till seated, gently. Count the turns. Back out to 2 and a half turns, thats normal. Or if you no that you need more fuel injected, simply turn the screw OUT 1/4 or 1/2 turn and try it. GOOD LUCK (Its not hard)
There is no drilling to be done. Hope i didnt scew something up on mine......

You need a long reach plug wrench tool should have one in your bikes tool kit .
Testimonial: "I didn't realize the correct tool had been under my **** all these years. Thanks for the help!"
SOURCE: what size spark plug socket is used for the 750
My 1999 Shadow ACE uses 18mm socket, it will need to be a thin walled socket to fit all of them
SOURCE: Changing Spark Plugs on 1999 Honda Shadow 750
Yes, it is an 18mm plug but you will need to use the Honda Plug Tool which is part of the stock tool kit just below the seat. Use that and you will get all of the plugs out very easily.
