Question about Dell 966 All-In-One InkJet Printer

DELL AIO 966 Carrier belt detached from printer

My belt isn't connected to the printer itself. It seems to be attached to the back of the cartridge carrier, but the two ends are just hanging loose. I also found a white wheel sitting loose in the bottom of my printer. How to I re-attach the belt to the printer and where does the little white wheel go?

The belt goes through the back of the ink carrier.

There is a spring somewhere that keeps tension on the belt with the white roller.

The belt itself hooks into the frame of the machine.

Cartridge error 1203


The 1203 error indicates either a communication failure between one of your cartridges and your printer or a short in one of the cartridges. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

1. Power off the AIO and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the power supply, and power the AIO on. Did the error message return?


Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.

Ok it worth a try
Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

Printer Reset



1 Power off the All-In-One (AIO) and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Then reinsert the power supply and power the AIO on.

Did the error message return?

Yes: Continue to step 2.

No: Attempt a test scan. If the error message does not reappear, the error is resolved.


2 Power off the AIO and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Open the scanner cover. Check the scanner glass for cracks and the scanner casing for cracks. Close the scanner lid. Open the top cover of the AIO. Using the carrier belt, move the cartridge carrier to the middle of the unit. Remove both cartridges, close the top cover, reinsert the power supply, and power the AIO on.

Did the error message return?

Yes: contact Dell.
No: Continue to step 3.

The drive belt on the inkjet carriage came off it's wheels.


You'll have to disassemble the printer, remove the bottom of the printer and turn it upside down to where the belt and underside of the ink carriage (where ink comes out) is exposed. Take the closest loop of the belt and insert it around the plastic piece attached to the carriage [see image]. Then reassemble the printer. If you aren't good at taking things apart and re-assembling them you may have a hard time with this. Also, you may severely damage your printer if you break something mechanical or electronic in the process. Don't blame me.ff8bdfe.jpg

Dell 944 All-in-One Printer - printhead carrier jam


I just found that one of the little feeder rollers (??) on the roller bar has jumped out and is sitting (still attached by its spring) on top of the roller bar. I reckon that's curtains for the printer. Am I right or is it repairable?
