While the set was on, it "popped" and the picture went dark, with a red horizontal line across the screen a little below the mid point. The line appears to be four or five thin lines close to each other. For about two weeks prior to this, the picture had occasionally had red "ghost" images.
The erroneous red images began appearing when the cable company installed a new converter box with DVR. We thought the box was faulty. The connection to the coax cable was broken out of the back of the case during this installation. The new box does not use the coax.

i HAVE A 47" PANASONIC REAR PROJECTION TV. pURCHASED NEW FROM CIRCUIT CITY DEC 2001. wORKS EXCELLECNTLY NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. NOT USED AS MUCH AS A FAMILY ROOM TV, WHICH ARE ON CONTANTLY. WE WERE TOLD THAT THESE WERE NOT OPTIMUM FOR GAMING THAT WAS FINE FOR NOW. WE ARE LOOKING TO REPLACE IT WITH A LCD. WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD SELLING PRICE FOR THIS OLD UNIT.
