SSID number is the security key that you have to protect your network from unauthorised usage.
you can easily get it from your router vendor.

Whats ssid mean.

Hi

SSID- Service Set Identifier

An SSID is the name of a wireless local area network (WLAN). All wireless devices on a WLAN must employ the same SSID in order to communicate with each other. The SSID on wireless clients can be set either manually, by entering the SSID into the client network settings, or automatically, by leaving the SSID unspecified or blank. A network administrator often uses a public SSID, that is set on the access point and broadcast to all wireless devices in range. Some newer wireless access points disable the automatic SSID broadcast feature in an attempt to improve network security.
SSIDs are case sensitive text strings. The SSID is a sequence of alphanumeric characters (letters or numbers). SSIDs have a maximum length of 32 characters.

I have a Arris TM722 modem and I need to know my SSID number and password? please help me!

An SSID is the name of your wireless network connection and doesn't have to be a number. As I don't believe that this modem supports wireless connectivity, it should not prompt you for an SSID or a password. If the modem is plugged into a wireless router however, and a wireless network has been set up, the SSID will be related to the wireless router.

Generally most devices can scan for the SSID when attempting to connect to a wireless connection. If there is an "automatic" setting or a "find networks" button, you can try that and choose your wireless connection from the list provided. For a password, you may need to ask whomever helped set up your wireless network.

Tryed to do system updates lastnite and now but keep getting error code 80710723, i have old style ps3 but havn't had any problems before, how can i fix this please? ellen

Hi,

A PS3 Error 80710723 signifies a network/router error. Try going toSETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > INERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS >(if wired, choose path 1. if wireless, choose path 2.)

1. WIRED CONNECTION > CUSTOM > MANUAL SETTINGS > AUTO DETECT> AUTOMATIC > DO NOT SET > MANUAL ( DNS1 : 208.67.222.222 ,DNS2 : 208.67.220.220 ) > AUTO > DO NOT USE > ENABLE > X> X

2. WIRELESS > ENTER MANUALLY > ( ENTER SSID OR CONTINUE ) > (CHOOSE SECURITY OR CONTINUE ) > CUSTOM > AUTO > DO NOT SET> MANUAL ( DNS1 : 208.67.222.222 , DNS2 : 208.67.220.220 ) > AUTO> DO NOT USE > ENABLE > X > X

Regards.
