Maytag model number RSW2200E stopped making ice, water dispenser still works though

disconnect and wait for full melt down. then reconnect

What is the resistance of the motor in the ice maker?

does the water dispenser work OK ? if yes , a try this : pour 3/4 of a cup of water into the ice maker, right into where the ejection fingers are. also , take all of the ice out of the ice bin. then , give the freezer time to freeze the water you have poured into the ice maker and see if the ice maker ejects the ice into the bin. if it does, it might reset itself and refill the unit and work normally.

you may have dislodged a sensor or perhaps you may have blocked your water line somehow... im not sure about this specific model, but just try having a look at what you did and see if there are sensors around there.. and make sure u havent dropped anything in there wich may have clogged the lines... lets hope its not your solenoid that has gone, sounds unlikely though you never know

I have a Maytag model 2556 AE refridgerator. The ice maker works but the ice and water dispenser, the light and everything else on the front of the unit doesn't work. Is there a fuse that operates this or is there other problems? Thank you Bob

By placing the first 3 letters in the search feature it will take you to models like yours. Chose the correct model that you have and enter the number in the search. I believe that the water control valve on back of your refrigerator is the problem. Maytag is very good about helping their customers. 1) Electric Water valve check up.
2) Water/Ice dispenser control check up
3) frozen plastic pipe inside door or/and chilled water container frozen
4) old water filter (clogged)

I think you are right, if the motor doesn't pump the water to the ice maker, you won't get ice.
