Cannot change ink. Turn on, and just unplug power when cartridge is moving. cartridge will stop not in parking position. Just move head carriage to replacement position.

No, It could be that the copper/metallic plate that interfaces with the cartridge and/or the carriage could be dirty. Remember that the ink is heated to produce the steam which is necessary to push the ink out of the cartridge. That spray doesn't just go down. It atomizes the ink so it sprays everywhere. You may need to clean those contacts with 91-99% Isopropyl Alcohol and use a coffee filter. The white filters are cheap, lint-free, and durable. Please turn off the printer and unplug it before you use any liquids on the contacts!!!

I have the Epson R1900 and I did a nozzle check twice and head cleaning twice. I am unable to check my supply levels. I am getting a message saying to only use genuine Epson Ink but that is what it

More than a little unusual that the printer is reporting non-OEM cartridges if those are the ones loaded unless your cartridge supplier has obtained their stock from another sales zone, in which case it may be that the printer is not recognising them as being valid.

Presumably, given the model you are getting the warning on your computer so you can disable this status monitor by doing the following:

- Open Printers & Faxes (or the equivalent for your operating system
- Locate your R1900 printer in the list
- Right click and select "Printing Preferences" (or "Properties" followed by "Printing Preferences")
- Click the "Maintenance" tab
- Click on the button marked "Speed & Progress"
- Tick the box marked "Disable status monitor 3.0" (The exact line may differ)
- Click Apply then OK

This should disable the annoying "Use genuine" warnings although it will also disable your ink monitoring capabilities via software.

I would still contact your supplier and/or Epson to complain about the problem and ask for replacement cartridges for the ones most recently changed as obviously this is something that should be covered under the cartridge warranty.

Hope that helps.

Disable ink detect on mac epson workforce 610

Aloha, Epson have a bad reputation for making people buy only their cartridges and get lots of money for them but there is a way around them by never doing firmware updates and if you did there is a software program that allows you to down grade the firmware so you can use 3rd party cartridges it is called "Wicreset" or another program called "SSC Service Utility " to check and adjust ink levels. google them for their web addresses. Good luck...

Installed 91 type ink into EPSON CX5500 printer. As stated in other forums the printer driver/hardware does not recognise the ink? It was purchased fm www.epson.com.au. How can I make this work?

Hi,

I believe you already have tried reinstalling the ink cartridge? If not, do it and see if it helped. If it still doesn't work, then it means that the chip of the cartridge is bad. Have it replaced.

Epson printer CX9300 error B73 cannot recognise ink cartridge

A clone cartridge is a type of third-party ink cartridge that uses an identical chip to the original ink cartridge. People buy cloned cartridges to save money, since original cartridges are more expensive. However, sometimes the Epson printer does not recognize the cloned ink cartridge. After you install the cartridge, you might receive a message that says "An ink cartridge cannot be recognized." In this case, you will have to disable the Epson printer monitor.

Instructions
    • 1

Install your cloned ink cartridge into the Epson printer.

    • 2

Go to "Start > Control Panel" on your computer.

    • 3

      Double-click on "Printer."

    • 4

Right-click on the icon of your Epson printer and choose "Printer Preferences" at the bottom of the dialog box.

    • 5

Click on the tab entitled "Speed and Progress" and see the Epson printer monitor box.

    • 6

Check off the box that says "Disable Epson Status Monitor" to turn off the ink monitor.

    • 7

Click "Save" and close the windows. Your cloned ink cartridges should now work.

Epson may also display an error message if you refill the ink cartridges.

How to reset 73/91 Cartridges for Epson CX5500

SSC utility is used for resetting waste ink counter, not for ink level counter (chip at ink tank). If you wish to reset ink level counter (chip), you must use hardware resetter, or use CISS chip with autoreset function.

Message E-91

E91 on Epson printer means ink waste full.

To fix the printer it is necessary to take it apart, clean the ink pad, then resetting the printer chip, using a cartridge resetter, or an Epson special utility.

You can do this at any repair shop, or you can buy the repair kit here and try doing it yourself. It will be necessary to take apart the printer and do a 'dirty job' to fix this fault.
