I dont touch my xbox when it is playing, it sits on its side and i have never had a problem with it until now. i have had the game for 2 weeks and was brand new. i played the game a few times and one day it said it could not read the disk after i inspected the game disk there was a perfect ring of scratches on the disk. the game didnt leave the xbox hardly at all so it did not get scratched anywhere else. besides wanting to take a bat to the system i dont know what to do, has anyone had problems like this?

scratching rings into cd means don't put anymore "important CDs" in there try switching how the 360 is sitting see if you can't run a blank CD in it when its set on side (opposite to side its on being vertically or horizontally)
Some games may have some slight scratches on the play-side of the discs that will simply not play in your games console or computer. Some home remedies to repair discs may help with only very light scratches on some discs but professional disc repair services is normally required to restore deeper scratches or disc laser burn damage back to "As Good As New Condition".

Check to see if there are any scratches or laser burn marks on the discs. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error” or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs. A common problem that Xbox owners are reporting is if the console is moved during play, a whirring noise is heard and then when the disc is removed, very visible laser burn rings are found on the disc. Laser burn, looks like complete or partial circular scratches around your disc, also known as “the ring of death”. This occurs to discs when the games console has been moved whilst playing, from an upright to a horizontal position or vice versa or simply knocked against or the wires may have been just tripped upon. Discs are then impaired by a ring of laser burn, which is a circular scratch into the disc. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some discs but a professional disc repair service is normally required to fix laser burn scratches or damage to XBOXdiscs.

Check the “More Info” & “FAQ” Sections for further details on disc repairs and related matters, or send your discs for repair. If this laser burn scenario is consistently happening to your game discs especially if the console has not been moved or bumped against while the discs is in play, the games console itself may require repair. You should contact Microsoft for assessment and guidelines. Hope this Helps!!
If your xbox is making that ring around your disc chances are you are playing your xbox standing up, if you lay the xbox down on its side this may fix the problem atleast it did for me. And as for the the midnight club freezing all the time it is still doing this on my xbox, copy the game to hard drive, and it should deffinitly limit the game from freezing, it worked for me.
the problem is the disc drive.
you have to open it up and put some stick foam " like a sticky strip of foam, insulator : on top of the drive .
the problem is that the disc touches the laser assembly while turning cheating a ring on the disc.
i can fix your games as well as the disc drive if you feel like is to complicated.
